The Newest Addition to Our Family!

The Girls Go To The Daddy Daughter Dance

The girls in the hotel ballroom. They got smart this year and served "kid food". One of our favorite times of year is here. No, it is not spring, but the annual Daddy Daughter prom. The girls look forward to it every year and truth be told so do we.  Yes, it costs almost as much as a real prom, but the daddy/daughter quality time is priceless. The girls get new dresses, have their hair/nails done, put on a little make up, and get to be "fancy" for one night . The get daddy's undivided atttention for 3 hours and have a wonderful time. This year instead of making the kids eat grown up "fancy" food, they had their own buffet line with kid friendly food. This made the girls very happy. We cannot wait until next year! Not sure who has more fun! They make a cute couple. He really was sweating like a pig!

The Bunch Goes Camping at Mineral Wells

Priceless. What better way to admit I am crazy than to take 3 kids who are terrified of bugs into the wilderness tent camping? Surprisingly, we had a really good time. We went for 3 nights. Well, I paid for 3 nights. We actually left in the evening on what would have been the third night. We did not leave because of any issue we had with camping, but rather because we were worried about the weather. I think a sneeze would have caused the lake water, which did not have a millimeter to spare, to go over the spillway and essentially trap us in our tent until the water receded. I have never seen water so high on a spillway and it was a little scary. Especially since there was a crack exactly half way down the retaining wall that was leaking water down the entire length of the spillway. That just does not seem safe to me. Not to worry though, if it were to burst while crossing it they put nice little speed bumps to contain the cars so they won't go off the 200  ft cliff. I wasn

The Bunch Goes to Spring Fling

The kids just finished the egg hunt. Getting ready for the egghunt. Isn't she cute with no sound?   It is a tradition at T's school to close the school the Thursday before Good Friday and have a carnival. We have participated in this the past 4 years. It is a huge event. They have face painting, balloon animals, petting zoo, rock climbing wall, inflatable obstacle course, bounce houses, train rides, and the highlight which is the raffle baskets. Each raffle ticket is only $1 and some of the baskets are worth upwards of $300. This is our second year to win a basket. We won 4 tickets to the Dallas Zoo, 4 tickets to the Ft Worth zoo, 4 monthes of Taekwondo plus a uniform, disposable grill, picnic blanket, two portable folding chairs, and a nice big cooler with wheels. The girls wanted the nintendo 360 basket or the american girl basket, but instead they got the camping basket, which works for me because we have a big camping trip coming up. It was a gorgeous day. L Goes Toothless!!

My first tooth L looses another tooth. L has been losing her teeth right and left lately. I was really proud of myself for the last one though. Just ask D. I DO NOT PULL TEETH! EVER! However, this week it was unavoidable. L had thrown her fit to her dad the night before when he had tried to pull her tooth so he had sent her to bed. Fast forward to lunch the next day and over a special treat of pizza...and you guessed it: disaster struck. L looked at her crust and finger and noticed a lot of blood on them. I saw her tooth was completely red and immediately took her away from the drapes and upholstery and lead her to the bathroom. I did what any good mom would do.....I told L she had to pull it out immediately so we could stop the bleeding. She cried, I cried, and we both realized that was in fact NOT going to happen. Since I knew that time was of the essence, I did what I could no longer avoid, I yelled down the hall to my 8 year old daughter to hurry and come pull her sister'
