The Bunch Quarantine Week 2

Happy 14th Birthday L! It has finally stopped raining! Thank God! We have roughly 4 days of sun and wind to dry things up before the next storm arrives. Our yard actually squishes with every step WE take. The horse pen is horrendous. In fact the horse, Iris, strained her leg sliding around in it so we have had to stall her until the yard dries out enough to give her some traction. I am hopeful that by tonight or tomorrow it will have dried out enough to let her loose. We are going through a ton of chips for the stall and mucking it out twice a day is really time consuming, not to mention disgusting since we have to slop through all the mud to clean it out. Unfortunately, Iris had plenty of time for a good old fashioned mud bath before we locked her up. She literally had chunks of mud balls stuck all in her mane. We have black clay so once the mud dries it basically has the consistency of rocks. It was so bad I had to cut them out of her mane. She now has what we are referring t

The Bunch Barely Notice the Pandemic

What a difference a week makes! We are still not too concerned about the Corona Virus for our immediate family. We are all normally very healthy and should we contract it then it would most likely be very mild or asymptomatic. I am a little worried about our older relatives though, especially my parents who really don't seem to care too much about it. All this has made me wonder if instead of bronchitis T really had the Corona Virus. He wasn't tested then because this hadn't really been heard of yet, but it was just a couple of weeks ago. What I am concerned about is the panicking people that may cause food shortages. I was worried enough about having enough food for our family that I bought over a month's worth of groceries last week. The news really needs to calm down about their coverage of this virus. Maybe they could do a morning and night update on what is happening, but every story definitely doesn't need to be related to the virus.  I can't hardly deal wi

The Bunch Make the Most of the Weather in Between Rain Showers

Thanks to both the never ending days of rain and T's illness we did cancel our first camping trip of the year. However, he was starting to feel better so we still went to the nearby state park and went on a shortish hike. I have been diligently working on my hip exercises and my hip is doing a lot better so I was ready to try a hike. I can now sleep on either side for at least 30 minutes and rarely have severe pain, though some level of pain is always present. However, as long as my pain is at a level I can just push through things then I am happy. I was able to hike about 2 miles without any severe pain. Too bad our hike was almost 3 miles. As you can probably guess the last mile was pure torture, but I did it. We went back about two weeks later and walked almost 4 miles. That was too far also, but apparently the map mislabeled how long the trails were. A  was the only person with me so we just stopped fairly frequently on the last mile and finally made it to the car. I was abl

The Bunch are Ready for Spring Camping

Dinner out with the family. Well as they say the best laid plans.... alright I don't really know what the saying is, but basically my plans seem to rarely work out. We have had a great stretch of weather for a few days and I have really been looking forward to taking the camper out. Of course, that means the only two days we wanted to go just happen to coincide with the only two days of bad weather that is expected. We might have still tried to go, but the final nail in the coffin was T coming down with bronchitis. Now, our date is hopefully in two more weeks since next weekend is busy with routine doctor appointments and a farrier visit.  T is also getting his braces next week. It is a really exciting way for us to use our tax return. Think of all the wonderful memories we will make with his braces! Just kidding of course, but he needs them so instead of a trip to the elephant sanctuary, we will be going to the orthodontist. However, we plan to hopefully be able to do th
