The Bunch Have Some Unexpected Visitors

It has been a long time since I ordered something that had a box big enough for T to get into. It always seems like something crazy and out of the normal is going on at our house. This week was no different. T went outside to play basketball and noticed "a weird  duck" was by the gate and that it wanted in. I am still trying to comprehend why he let some weird animal into the backyard since he knew it wasn't ours. However, he let the "weird duck" in and then noticed the weird duck had 3 weird duck friends already in our backyard! T ran to the house to tell us about the weird ducks in the yard. Imagine my surprise when we went out and discovered not weird ducks, but 4 Guinea fowl chicks. I knew right away they had to be someone's pets. The local farm store had a bunch of them for sale a few weeks prior so I assumed someone had bought a few.  These would have been about the right age. They were too young to fly and too big to fit through the fence. I have ab

The Bunch See Tim Hawkins Live!!

We have watched, and loved, Christian comedian Tim Hawkins for at least the last decade, if not longer. We have watched pretty much anything that he has put on YouTube. He does do comedy tours, but mostly just on the east coast where he lives. That is why when we heard 6 months ago he was coming to Ft Worth we didn't hesitate and bought tickets for us all to go see him live. I am glad we did get tickets the day they went on sale because the event sold out completely within a few hours. We have been looking forward to it for what feels like forever. We even had shirts specifically printed up that quoted some of our favorite bits he has done over the years.  What was funny is he even did the bits that were printed on T and I's shirts, which probably made a lot more sense to everyone else after hearing it! We had so much fun! Afterwards, A and T commented on how their cheeks hurt from laughing so hard. It was a great night even though we ended up staying out really late. We went

The Bunch Enjoy The Eclipse And Camp At Mineral Wells

We had been looking forward to the eclipse since we learned we were in the path of totality way back in 2017. We had enjoyed that as a family even though it was just a partial eclipse. A's work decided to close for the rare phenomenon and we decided not to have any school. It was a fun day. We periodically checked on the progress until the totality got closer and then we went outside. The path ended up moving slightly farther south so we didn't get complete totality, but about 95%. It didn't get completely dark, but like almost nightfall, a very dark dusk. The automated lights came on andthe rooster went up to bed, but the hens did not. They huddled together and got quiet, but didn't go up in the coop. The birds quieted down, the temperature dropped about 10 degrees, and we sat in our chairs and just took it in. It was exciting! In fact, it was almost a let down afterwards because there was such excitement building up to it. We might go see the total eclipse in 20 yea

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though
