The Bunch are Busy Helping Family and Getting Ready to Camp!

Happy Fall Ya'll Yay! We did it! One of our two silkies, having officially laid several eggs, is a girl!  The other one is currently doing what we refer to as the egg squat and will most likely lay in the next two weeks. After 70% of our first batch of chicks were roosters, I must admit we didn't have high hopes for any others. However, we have picked all girls the past two batches and there will NOT be a third batch. The first little silkie to lay an egg (her name is Fluffy) L was so excited to find the little egg. Small Silkie egg, normal baby size eggs, regular hen egg Anna is the the only one we are waiting for. She should lay any day now. One of our aunts was going through  our beloved Memaw's things and found a circus train that she had loved. T is really into trains and so she shipped it to us. He had a lot of fun playing with it. It still needs a power source so we plan to order one and then T will really love it. T really enjoyed checking everything out. He thought

The Bunch Enjoy the Nice Weather and See Friends and Family

T can be so creative....and a little weird                                             I think this could work for her. I have to be honest. This year sucks. Ok. No news there, but what we have come to forceibly appreciate is a slower life. I really thought we did a decent job of making sure we balanced the kids activities with our life. Honestly, we did do a good job. We had the kids take turns doing sports and extracurricular activities to keep our lives manageable. However, this unexpected and screeching halt of EVERYTHING for an extended time has made us really learn to appreciate NOT doing things. D and I are able to keep up with all our chores (plus virtually clear our "to do" list) and have what seems like an unprecedented amount of down time. We have started to expand our bubble, but only slightly. We have been spending time a couple of times a month with my parents; we have spent a couple of days with D's parents d

The Bunch Celebrate A's 17th Birthday

This was the last week of D's vacation. He left work almost 2 weeks ago when it was 106. He went back to work and today's high is 70. He was pretty happy with that. Overall, this summer wasn't too bad. It got really hot for a few days here and there, but mostly it was a mild summer, for Texas anyway. We are really looking forward to fall here. We are making the most of the cooler weather and even have our fall scented Bath and Body Works candles burning. It was strange to not have our annual Labor Day party this year. We still grilled some hot dogs and hamburgers and our oldest son came for a visit. Our Aunt and a family friend also stopped by for a quick visit. It was nice. We miss seeing everyone together though. Hopefully, we can spend time together next year. Christmas will definitely feel strange this year.  The Boys .......and yes T at 12 is taller than C at 27. T is going to be a giant! B and L enjoying spending time with people they don't see everyday. We also

The Bunch Start Week 4 of School and Celebrate T's Birthday

We celebrated birthdays with my parents.  Let's just say it. This year sucks. I couldn't agree more with the Taco Bueno commercial. No one can see anybody or do anything and it is wearing on everyone's nerves. We try to follow the recommended guidelines for our state, but it is really upsetting when we are out and we see so many people not following the guidelines. Covid is here and people are scared. Let's try to not be selfish. A little inconvenience for a year really isn't any huge deal.  My parents keep their house below zero.  It rained 6 inches in an hour. The road we were on flooded out. It was the scariest drive. I took this before it flooded. I was too concerned with dying and forgot to take flooded pictures. My mom likes to celebrate everyone's birthday. In trying to follow the recommendations of the CDC, for the first time in about 17 years, we are not having our large Labor Day party where we celebrate two kids birthdays. It feels very strange not to
