The Bunch Start Birthday Season

All dressed up and ready for lunch It is that time of the year again when we celebrate 3 birthdays in 2 weeks. As the kids get older, the scale of birthdays have gone down, but we still enjoy them. We kicked off birthday season this year by celebrating with my parents. It is tradition for them to take us out to a hibachi grill near their house. It is really yummy and except for T hating when they first light the grill, we all really love this place. It is a glass Palace that you walk into. There is a Koi pond that makes up the floor (it actually scares me death that that the floor will crack and I will fall in) and all the rooms are separated with perfectly clear glass (which unfortunately my father did not realize on our first visit and ran right into!). Their food is phenomenal and we all had a really enjoyable evening. My birthday is the first official birthday that kicks off birthday season. We are going to get Chinese food from my most favorite place, Mr. Chopsticks, after church

The Bunch Are Slowly Getting Into The School Routine

T works hard to get better at basketball. Last week was our first week of school and we already had to take a day off to help C and H move. This week we took another day off so L could go with her friend and her friend's mom to celebrate her friend's 16th birthday at Great Wolf Lodge. L had a blast! She said she must have walked a million steps climbing up all the stairs to ride the slides over and over again. While L was at her friend's party, her friend's little brother came to stay with us. He is T's best friend so T was excited to spend a whole day with him. They are always so quiet when he comes over! The boys literally just play basketball the whole time or silently sit next to each other playing video games. It is way different than the girls. They are all giggles and shrieking.  I have been helping T get ready for basketball season by staying on him about getting his workouts in. I also monitor how much he eats now too because he lost over 30 lbs this summer

The Bunch Move C and H

A is completely loving her two weeks of free time. Pretty much all of this past week was spent helping C and H move from their house in Carrollton to their new house in Bonham. We all worked really hard and after two full days of helping, and sweating profusely, I am happy to say that they are all moved. Their new house is almost 1000 sq ft smaller so they did A LOT of downsizing. Their new house is a new build and super cute. They still have a lot of unpacking to do, but our part is all over as of today. We will be spending the next day recovering. Moving gets harder as you get older. C did two extra days of moving by himself and I have no idea how he is still standing! I am just exhausted and greatly looking forward to putting my feet up and watching Murdoch Mysteries ( thanks Aunt Pat for sharing).  We did manage to get about an inch of rain this week. Unfortunately, it did not really make dent in the drought, but it was very appreciated.  Unfortunately, the storm knocked our power

The Bunch Have A Hay Set Back and A Gets A Job!

We haven't done a lot this past week, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been a lot going on behind the scenes. We are finishing our last couple of Fun Jar items before school starts next week and we had an unexpected hay set back.  First off, last week I was so excited that I had found hay in this crazy market. I felt like I had won the lotto. During the delivery on Monday, D noticed that the hay I ordered and paid for was NOT the hay being delivered. Once you have animals that require hay, you learn very quickly what the different types of hay look like and what was on the truck for delivery was the same lower quality stuff I had already bought the week before. I was not very happy since I had asked a dozen times when I bought it if it was definitely the hay I specified and was assured that it was. Nope, it wasn't. Hay delivery was sent back and they still charged me the trip charge for their mistake! We had to go back to our original plan B. This means using the lo
