The Bunch Are Slowly Getting Into The School Routine

T works hard to get better at basketball.

Last week was our first week of school and we already had to take a day off to help C and H move. This week we took another day off so L could go with her friend and her friend's mom to celebrate her friend's 16th birthday at Great Wolf Lodge. L had a blast! She said she must have walked a million steps climbing up all the stairs to ride the slides over and over again. While L was at her friend's party, her friend's little brother came to stay with us. He is T's best friend so T was excited to spend a whole day with him. They are always so quiet when he comes over! The boys literally just play basketball the whole time or silently sit next to each other playing video games. It is way different than the girls. They are all giggles and shrieking.

I have been helping T get ready for basketball season by staying on him about getting his workouts in. I also monitor how much he eats now too because he lost over 30 lbs this summer and is getting a little thin. He gets so into playing ball and doing fun stuff he forgets to eat or tries to just grab something real quick and rush back to playing. He is really excited for basketball this year. We don't really get started until November so luckily I have a little bit of time before things get crazy.

A starts school on Monday, which might not happen if we get a lot of storms. Country life has its own rules. There are no internet cables run so internet options rely on line of sight satellite, i.e. heavy rains=no line of sight=no internet. Country living also means aerobic septic, which means only so many gallons of water can be processed each day. If we get heavy rains that means no showers, no laundry, and no dishwasher.  We don't think it's weird anymore, but at first when we moved here it felt weird to plan our showers and laundry around the weather. A starts work in a week and all of our schedules will have to adjust because our third car will be in use. The big SUV is usually only is used for pulling the trailers, but for the next month or so until we find A another small car I will be using it. Thankfully, there is no basketball stuff yet so I shouldn't have to use it too much.

Our birthday season starts next week and the kids and I are deciding how to celebrate. It worked out that A doesn't work on her birthday so she will be able to have dinner with us between her classes. It is going to be so different with her gone all the time.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
