The Bunch Are Off To A Wonderful 2025 And Are Considering A Change 🤔

It's official, she has a college diploma!!

Besides totally enjoying a drama free year, we have been consciously spending time doing things as a family and spending time with each child doing things they enjoy. D has been playing ball and watching movies with his larger "mini me" while A and I have been spending a lot of time in Dallas going to the theatre. A absolutely loves going to see off Broadway productions! I won't be surprised in the slightest if she ends up getting season tickets. Dallas Broadway does a lottery to each show where if they draw your name you have 3 hours to buy tickets for $39 each including all fees! That is an absolute steal! She actually won the lottery on Tuesday so we went that night to see the production of "& Juliet". The seats she won were FANTASTIC! They don't give you cheap seats in the back for the lottery. You win good seats. The seats we ended up with worked out to be only about a quarter of the regular price! We had a wonderful time. We got home pretty late though and even though A had to work the next morning, she was glad she went. She takes me a long as her accomplice, but I am hoping after she takes her board exams next month that she'll have more time to do things with her friends and hopefully a boyfriend. I would love for her to get married in the next couple of years. I hate to think of her being lonely while D and I are traveling.

We had a fun night!

The show was really fun! And we had great seats!

T and I have been working on his hiking badge as our thing to do together. We just finished hike #3 of 10. We hiked 9.16 miles. T learned several things: 1.) His dear old mom isn't the one holding him back, 2.) the hiking pants A got him for Christmas are more of a cold weather pant and NOT for when it's 80 out, 3.) he didn't pack enough water, and 4.) he has no sense of direction and the "just keep walking and we'll find our way out" doesn't necessarily work out. In fact, I am pretty sure it will almost never work out. After this latest hike, I pretty much decided that he is not quite ready to be set loose in the woods by himself yet. On our next hike, I am going to work with him on identifying the correct trails by looking at the stickers on each post and learning to figure out what direction he is traveling. Texas Parks is probably one of, if not the worst, at marking trails where you can easily distinguish between them. I can't really blame him for not reading the map correctly. Multiple trails cross over each other multiple times and it gets rather confusing. I think learning what direction he is going will be the most helpful.

All smiles BEFORE the hike.

One of the trails was a pretty walk around the lake.

This is one of the trails that didn't work out on the" just walk and we'll find our way out" mentality . 😂

We were so tired and happy to finish and be back at the car we forgot the after hike picture! We were all smiles again after our stop at Sonic!

This week D sent me a link for a property in Saint Jo which we are probably going to go check out. Moving right now wasn't really on the radar, but we had planned on it in the not too distant future. We decided a couple of years ago that when D retired from the force in a couple of years that we wanted to buy some land so we could gift the kids some acreage to build/put a house on. We figured having the land to build on would probably lower the cost of buying a house enough for them to be able to afford their own housing. The property D found has not only almost 18 acres, but surprisingly also has a house that is 500 square feet more than ours, plus a metal shop, horse barn, chicken coop, solar, new well, and new Septic system. We weren't really looking for a house on the land we want, but it was built in 2019 and is EXACTLY as far to A's work as she is right now. We want to see if it really is as good  in person as it is on paper. I am not saying we're definitely moving anytime soon, but I guess if we find what we think we want it's always a possibility.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though...
