The Bunch Start Birthday Season

All dressed up and ready for lunch

It is that time of the year again when we celebrate 3 birthdays in 2 weeks. As the kids get older, the scale of birthdays have gone down, but we still enjoy them. We kicked off birthday season this year by celebrating with my parents. It is tradition for them to take us out to a hibachi grill near their house. It is really yummy and except for T hating when they first light the grill, we all really love this place. It is a glass Palace that you walk into. There is a Koi pond that makes up the floor (it actually scares me death that that the floor will crack and I will fall in) and all the rooms are separated with perfectly clear glass (which unfortunately my father did not realize on our first visit and ran right into!). Their food is phenomenal and we all had a really enjoyable evening. My birthday is the first official birthday that kicks off birthday season. We are going to get Chinese food from my most favorite place, Mr. Chopsticks, after church and then watch a movie on the projector. I get to pick whatever I want with no vetoing. I haven't decided yet what that will be, but probably a period piece. This afternoon my oldest son is taking me out for Mexican food at our local restaurant. It is kind of his thing to take us out for lunch for birthdays. It is a nice way to spend some one on one time together since we aren't able to see him too often.

My parents ❤️

We celebrated A, T, and my birthdays.

A is celebrating her 19th birthday. I am celebrating the 21st anniversary of my 24th birthday.

My baby is 14 and a freshman! Where does the time go?

My loving husband who is always ready to go out and celebrate.

T hates the big flame that they do before they start. He use to try to hide in the bathroom before they started, but they always waited for him to come back.😂

My mom also seemed a little apprehensive about the fire.

T still doesn't like it.

The restaurant also sang happy birthday to us and gave us a sundae.

T has been busy planning a fun day that includes his friend. Since we all homeschool we are taking off the Friday before his birthday. We are going to go pick up his friend about 10 am and from there T is planning his perfect day. I think that so far includes going to an indoor gym to play basketball, swimming, the trampoline park, and coming home to play video games. I think they will probably be so exhausted from our day they will probably just want to watch a movie!

I have heard stories that some people have cats they don't have to get off their cabinets or out of the drawers.

I don't believe them.

A starts her new job on Monday and while she does have her birthday off by chance, she will be busy with school so I am not sure how much we will celebrate with her. The kids always get off from school to celebrate each other's birthdays so we may go celebrate A's birthday without her! We will definitely make all her favorite meals and have cake though.

She is both nervous and excited about her first day tomorrow. Thanks Aunt Sandy for the new scrubs. She loves them.💗

L is working on finishing her driving hours. She drove this week to the grocery store. She is a good driver and a lot easier to teach than A. I guess it is easier to teach ANYONE who is not crying and doesn't want to learn! Thank goodness A got over that and is a very competent driver now. However, there were a few issues L had last time that I yelled at her about. AFTER we got to the store, she let me know she felt sick and then proceeded to go to the bathroom and throw up twice while these sweet old women kept asking her if she was ok. Unfortunately, since we were already in town and grocery shopping we had to finish first. I sent her to the car with a couple of coffee bags, T's idea, to wait in the air conditioner while T and I finished. We learned two things: one is that coffee bags make a good throw up bag and two is that coffee bags leak if moisture sits too long. Needless to say, we had quite the grocery trip and I went over with L that when she isn't feeling well to let me know BEFORE she drives and goes out to run errands. She is feeling fine now and I think her allergies and the humidity just got to her.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
