The Bunch Have Fun Jar Fun And Say Goodbye

Goodbye, old friend! It was fun.  For those who have been reading my posts for the past THIRTEEN years (crazy it has been that long) you might remember that in 2018, on a very cold, rainy morning in October, on our way to the grocery store we saw, a very wet about to give up on life, chicken in a ditch off of the highway. I stopped the car and L went to go retrieve her. She was in such bad shape that we weren't 100% sure it was even a chicken. It could have been a vulture. However, we put a cage in our kitchen with a heat lamp and rehabilitated her for a month. Not only was she a chicken, but she turned into our BEST chicken! She was so sweet and so loving with us that we bought more chickens that were her dominant breed (she was a mix and we know that because while she looked exactly like a speckled Sussex, she laid green eggs and ONLY Easter eggers lay green eggs). However, disappointedly the other speckled Sussexes are nothing like her. They are actually trouble makers and regul

The Bunch Enjoy Summer

We have so much extra Christmas paper that we just use it to wrap everything.😂 We don't even notice anymore. After our craziness of the past 9 months, slipping into the slow paced idolness of summer has been a blessing. Don't get me wrong, we have had lots of things we need to get done, but the beauty in that is we need to get it done on our time table. If we decide we just can't do it right now then we can put it off until a better time. We aren't living by anyone else's time table.  There is no basketball schedule, no school schedule, or any other schedule we have to go by.  It's fantastic! We have had a lot of time to enjoy things together. We have gone to plays, out to eat, out to the movies, played games, and a lot of other things. We plan to go race go karts and maybe take in a baseball game soon. Basically, we're all just healing together. A says she has serious trust issues and I tell her that I do too now. I am the only one who really talks or br

The Bunch Go To The Winspear Opera House

They had a wonderful time!  A has been in love with Hamilton the musical since Disney+ first released it and she saw it for the very first time. She has studied the soundtrack and even recreated the entire routine to Schuyler Sisters to perform at prom. When she found out that it was coming back to Dallas this summer, she was one of the very first people to buy tickets. She even treated herself to really great seats, to a whopping $567 for two tickets. I think it's ridiculous that going to a play costs that much. I think many more people would love to instill a love for the arts in their children if it wasn't so cost prohibitive. T ended up going with her since he is the next most devoted Hamilton fan in our household. He is working off the cost of his ticket with me by doing extra chores around the house this summer. Luckily, A bought afternoon tickets so D and I could drive them down to the downtown area. We ended up going out to lunch at this really yummy taco place just o

The Bunch See H & C's Pics of England and Scotland 😂

C arrives in London.  The funny part about these pics is C didn't want to go so H found a way to include him. It was very sweet, and not to mention hilarious, to see her pictures. She had a great time, but says she probably will not go back. The plane ride was about 12 hours and it was a lot. I really want to see Scotland too, but the distance is also a deterrent for me. There is so much in the US I want to see first.  H went to London and Scotland with her brother, his wife, their NEWBORN, and her brother's father in law. C in the iconic red phone booth. C also made it to Windsor Castle to see the changing of the guards. He also enjoyed a bike ride around the city. You have to see Big Ben and the Tower Of London. We celebrated H's birthday too. It always wonderful to see my son and his family. The tower is being fixed so hopefully this week we will have Internet again. However, the library in town lends out hotspots!!! So we have some Internet at least for the next two week
