The Bunch Go Camping And Get A New Dog

It was a great park! Well, A decided not to go camping with us since she would have to miss work so we plan to go on a weekend she has off one week. The rest of us headed off to Wichita Falls to camp at Arrowhead State Park. We had never been to this particular park, but several things felt very familiar about it. We couldn't figure out what park we had been to that was set up similarly. I guess I am going to have to sleuth through the old blogs and see if I can figure it out. We loved this park! Now granted we were just about the only ones there, but I think even if it was full we still would have loved it. The sites were very roomy. The grounds were well maintained and the bathrooms while old were very clean and well kept. The boys prefer to shower in campground bathrooms, but I prefer our own shower. T worked on completing  several badge requirements while we were there. One of his requirements is to sleep for 15 nights in his tent. He set up his tent, but forgot his sleeping

The Bunch Helped GiGi And Pop Pop move Cows

Noelle is so long she is almost as long as my legs! And as you all know I am not a short woman! This week went by incredibly fast! We have had an issue the past week with a loose dog. It has gotten out several times over the past couple of years but recently has been here on our street almost daily. The house it "belongs" to is located behind us. It is about half a mile as the crow flies, if that crow flies across a hay field. Anyways, I noticed this dog, who is a Great Pyrenees, has lost a lot of weight. I finally called the number on his collar to let them know he has wandered off and was told that he was " in east Texas and that he'll (the dog) will wander back eventually" . I didn't bother responding to that. Who is taking care of this dog then????  T and I gave him some food and spent about 45 minutes pulling huge stickers out of his fur. He came by everyday for something to eat. After a couple of days I decided to call animal control to come pick him u

The Bunch Celebrate Birthdays

C and H🥰 We had a busy week this week. It was not only our eldest son's birthday, but also my father's birthday. We drove out to Bonham to celebrate C's 31st birthday by going out to dinner and having D's Memaw's chocolate pie, which is the BEST recipe I have ever tasted! Unfortunately, the pie didn't turn out as intended. L always liked to bake so normally she would make the crust for the pies and I would do the fillings. Obviously, she didn't do that this year so I tried my hand at it. The kids actually have a great crust recipe in their HomeEc book that we use. I am NOT a fan of crust, but I will actually eat this one. Anyways, I followed the directions and put it in the deep tin to bake. I even used a fork to make the edges look pretty before I baked it. I put it in the oven for about twelve minutes and when I took it out, it was a beautiful golden brown. HOWEVER, the sides ended up shrinking and I ended up with an uneven and fairly ugly crust. I wasn

The Bunch Celebrate Halloween

T decided to be Slash this year. Wouldn't this be awesome at his recital....at the bar....while playing Guns and Roses???😂 It has been about 5 years since my husband last took the kids trick or treating up and down our street. Our family loved how excited all the neighbors became when the kids went trick or treating. The kids always love to tell the story of the lady running down the street after them yelling that she had candy! We were told it had been six years since there had been trick or treaters on our street. It's amazing the great snacks and treats our neighbors just had laying around the house that they gave our kids. For the most part, they didn't get candy, they got Little Debbie snack cakes, homemade cupcakes, various granola bars, and just an assortment of high quality snacks. Now, it has been about 5 years since our streets last trick or treaters, namely us. I still hold out hope every year. I prepare with not only candy, but snack cakes and fruit snacks. I
