The Bunch Deal With Axl After Surgery

Poor Axl! We can't wait until he feels better and stops bleeding on everything. We have had a very, very, VERY, long week. Axl had his anal gland surgery on Monday and since then we have basically been cleaning blood off of EVERYTHING. I don't think I have ever washed so many towels and sheets in my life! I didn't realize this surgery was such a major one. I thought his recovery would mimic his recovery after he was neutered. It is not even close. We basically cover the floor in whatever room he is in with tons of towels, which have to be washed about twice a day because he bleeds all over them. It's concerning, but we have taken him twice to be checked on (once he ripped out his internal stitches) and the vets (A had two different ones look at him) say he is looking good and expect the "oozing" to stop in a couple of weeks when the stitches come out. 😭 We tried locking him in the kitchen and the first few nights that worked, but then he felt well enough to e...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...

The Bunch Head To The Ft Worth Protests And Have A Happy Father's Day

Our tradition of a picture next to the marque. Full disclosure, we actually didn't mean to be at the Fort Worth Protests it just kind of happened. A has had tickets to see Moulin Rouge at Bass Hall for several weeks. Everything just worked itself out. We learned of the planned protests only a couple of days beforehand. By then everything was already in place for us to be in downtown Ft Worth. A had a ticket for her show and T and I had tickets one block over to see How to Train Your Dragon in 3D at the same time. The protest was planned to be at the park on Seventh Street and we were on 3rd. Pretty close, but hopefully there would be no overlap. However, LOLA (our nickname for Google Maps), "helped" with accidentally sending us up Seventh Street exactly halfway through the protests. Luckily for us, it really was nothing. We saw a few people with signs and passed a pick up that advertised it had stuff to make your own sign if you wanted (I can guarantee my sign would not...

The Bunch Spend The Weekend Moving

While we are entertaining the possibility of a move in the near future, this weekend we helped C and H move from their adorable little house in town to a nice roomy lake house on an acre. They will have a lot more space, not only inside the house (it's a 4 bed/3bath), but also in terms of neighbors. They are on a cul de sac and quite a distance from town so street noise shouldn't be a problem. They should be able to just sort of relax and enjoy the quiet. It's a really nice house and I hope they like it. It's a good size ranch house. T tried out magnet fishing on the dock, but only found a broken metal stake. We were able to get H's raised flower beds so she was happy. We ended up pretty much taking off all the doors in order to fit the bigger stuff in. T found a comfortable spot to wait for us.  D, T, and I took the camper and the dogs to Bonham State Park so we could be close to C in order to help move him. This was Axl's first time being left in the camper ...

The Bunch Celebrate H's Birthday

My goofballs in the background ❤️ We got together this weekend at my mom's house to celebrate H's birthday. We see my parents often, but since C started having his heart issues he hasn't been able to go visit them and  he lives too far for my parents to go visit him. In fact, I question whether or not my house is too far for my parents to drive to  and C lives almost twice as far! It was really nice getting to see everyone. We did things simple. We got some pizza, some cake, and just spent our time visiting with each other. D, T, and I are going camping this week so we'll see C again soon. He is actually moving to a new house so we're going to help him move somethings. We don't want him over exerting himself. This trip we're going to work on Axl being left alone in the trailer. Well, without us. Maisy will still be there and we'll be only 10 minutes away helping C and will make trips back to check on them quite frequently. With all the rain we have bee...

The Bunch Take T To Urgent Care, Enjoy A Trader Joe's Haul, & Visit The Dallas Zoo

It was a super fun day! This was quite a busy week! First off, it was stormy. As you know our huge new dog is a big baby and is VERY reactive to storms. We have had SOME success with giving him anxiety medicine and putting him in his kennel. He does require someone to stay up with him while he is in his kennel so T and I take turns sitting with him. While we are still tired, at least this way we can relax instead of trying to man handle him to get out from behind the couch. He's been doing great gaining weight and while he still needs to gain about 30 more lbs, he has gained enough already it is getting really hard to make him do anything he doesn't want to!  The neighbor asked T if he would help her trim her bushes this week. She had surgery recently and can't get very much done so she likes to give T a few bucks to come help her do some chores. He spent about two hours cleaning her hedgerow and trimming the bushes. Unfortunately, he came into something he was HIGHLY aller...
