411 The Walters Bunch

  It was a little warm in the sun, but at least it was behind us. What a week we have had! At first, it was pretty slow going. T asked me if I wanted to go watch his girlfriend's softball game with him. I thought it was very sweet he invited me to go so of course I went with him! We had a nice time and met most of her family. Unfortunately, she ended up not playing! I guess she had been in the past few games so they used the other catcher. It was still fun and I learned more about softball. It is way different than baseball and I don't know a whole lot about baseball!  The best and biggest news we got this week is that C and H are expecting!!! We are so excited! H tried her best to tell us in the most special way she could. In her version, she mailed us a package that we would all open together while on the phone with them and we could experience it together. We had a great time! This week was very interesting. Since we were unexpectedly down to one car, we have had to adjust our schedule a bit. Mostly meaning that T can't go to his extracurricular activities unless A is home to take him and I can't run errands for the same reason. Since A has a Ford Spark, it is SLIGHTLY bigger than D's little 3 cylinder (I thought the salesman was kidding when said that) mirage, her car is the new family car. Seriously, it can not only hold the four of us (barely), but can actually accommodate all our groceries on a regular trip to the store. In fact, before the Tom Thumb in town opened, she use to pick up our grocery order on her way home from work since there was a Tom Thumb on her way home. It's been months since she had to do that, but she did it this week and I had a pretty big order. We also had made plans to visit C in Bonham. T's girlfriend was playing softball there so we thought it would be fun to grab dinner with them and go...

We made great time on the way there! It's amazing how leaving only 30 minutes later can help immensely with traffic. I wish all the shows started at 8 instead of 7:30.  What a week this was! We went to Bass Hall to see Back to the Future. It was ok. Definitely not the best play we have seen. The boys went with us and since the last two shows they joined us for were The Outsiders, which is one of, if not our most, favorite show ever, and A Christmas Story, which is in probably in the top 6, they were really not impressed. However, we still had a nice time doing something different together.  We love Bass Hall❤️ We had opening night tickets and got a GREAT deal! I went in this week and had my polyps removed plus they did a biopsy. I was more sore and for longer than I anticipated. Yes, the doctor said recovery was about 10 days, but I really only anticipated maybe 3-4. Boy, was I wrong! It's been 7 days now and by 10 I think I will be completely back to normal.   We picked up lime sodas from 7 brew. They were so good! In a completely unexpected twist of availability, we ended up celebrating St Patrick's Day with C & H. We aren't really fanatics about the day, but we usually watch Leap Year and have a green shake. This time we went to C's for dinner. He made his pulled pork and it was FANTASTIC! We really love pulled pork and don't have it very often. I made some potato salad, beans, and a coconut cake to go with it. In spirit of the day, C made us green beer, though I really don't think you can call a Michelob Zero a beer. I am not really a beer fan and the Michelob Zero tasted pretty good! I will definitely have some again. We had a great visit! I really value time with loved ones.  Izzy wasn't sure about sharing her chair.😂 H is doing well and has lost a lot of weight! D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before.   It was oddly unsettling to be home, but have zero cars here. Our week started out like any other. We were getting things ready to go on our trip and finishing some chores around the house. A and I were really excited she was going with us on our camping trip! She hasn't gone on a trip with us just to go camping in ages. It was only going to be for a couple days, but we were excited for her to come. It was going to be almost just like the old days.  D was out checking the tire pressures on all the vehicles and trailers in preparation of leaving when low and behold his little car had a flat. He put the spare on and was hopefully going to get the tire repaired at Discount Tire when he realized that his car wouldn't start at all. We ended up having it towed off to the auto shop. The very next day we all were on our way to visit GiGi and Pop Pop when about half way there the check engine light came on and we had to turn back and take a second car to the auto shop.
