411 The Walters Bunch

These tractors are huge! Things have been a little crazy here. We have been working on finishing school, scheduling the things T needs to get done before he can start college in the fall, scheduling his graduation party, and trying to help my mom while my Dad is in the hospital. A and I also were able to find an hour to go to our local farmers market. Our town has grown so much over the last couple of years! It feels more like your typical suburb now instead of the quaint little town we moved to 10 years ago. Our quiet little two lane highway has now become a bustling 4 lane road with medians. We have several commercial shopping areas going in, though I do actually really like having a grocery store in town! It's only 10 miles each way now to go get groceries instead of 30! We have an actual apartment complex now and multiple housing developments going in. I am NOT excited about all the new neighborhoods, but so far it hasn't really reached us yet.   I will miss having the entire place to ourselves this summer when everyone is on break. At first this week was just roaring by. We are finishing school, knocking out the things T needs to do before college starts, planning parties, and organizing our summer. We even went to play pickleball this week and with my new Reebok Nano cross trainers A said I played like a "real person". Apparently, in her mind this a compliment. However, she was right! I love these shoes! They are really sturdy and keep your ankles from rolling so I had no issues making hard lateral movements. In fact, the adults only lost each of our games by no more than two points and one game went into "overtime".  The kids seemed confused as to what was happening.😂 T also finished the Trail Life equivalent of his Eagle Scout award! Congratulations 🎉 🎉 👏 👏 We can't wait to see your dreams come true!! This past weekend we went to T's highschool graduation!😢 I can't believe he is really done.....well almost. We actually have a couple of weeks left, but this was when he had his ceremony. It was held at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We ran into so many wrecks on our way to downtown Ft Worth that it took us almost 2 hours to get there! D ended up taking us by his old childhood home. Apparently, he never realized it backed up to the college!😂 This was so much better than when L graduated. There was only 2 ceremonies in Texas for homeschoolers so we had almost a 100 there and the announcer went too fast and everyone kind of backed up. This time there was only 43 and each student got to have their moment until they were completely off the stage. It was about 45 seconds per graduate.   It was a little warm in the sun, but at least it was behind us. What a week we have had! At first, it was pretty slow going. T asked me if I wanted to go watch his girlfriend's softball game with him. I thought it was very sweet he invited me to go so of course I went with him! We had a nice time and met most of her family. Unfortunately, she ended up not playing! I guess she had been in the past few games so they used the other catcher. It was still fun and I learned more about softball. It is way different than baseball and I don't know a whole lot about baseball!  The best and biggest news we got this week is that C and H are expecting!!! We are so excited! H tried her best to tell us in the most special way she could. In her version, she mailed us a package that we would all open together while on the phone with them and we could experience it together. We had a great time! This week was very interesting. Since we were unexpectedly down to one car, we have had to adjust our schedule a bit. Mostly meaning that T can't go to his extracurricular activities unless A is home to take him and I can't run errands for the same reason. Since A has a Ford Spark, it is SLIGHTLY bigger than D's little 3 cylinder (I thought the salesman was kidding when said that) mirage, her car is the new family car. Seriously, it can not only hold the four of us (barely), but can actually accommodate all our groceries on a regular trip to the store. In fact, before the Tom Thumb in town opened, she use to pick up our grocery order on her way home from work since there was a Tom Thumb on her way home. It's been months since she had to do that, but she did it this week and I had a pretty big order. We also had made plans to visit C in Bonham. T's girlfriend was playing softball there so we thought it would be fun to grab dinner with them and go...

We made great time on the way there! It's amazing how leaving only 30 minutes later can help immensely with traffic. I wish all the shows started at 8 instead of 7:30.  What a week this was! We went to Bass Hall to see Back to the Future. It was ok. Definitely not the best play we have seen. The boys went with us and since the last two shows they joined us for were The Outsiders, which is one of, if not our most, favorite show ever, and A Christmas Story, which is in probably in the top 6, they were really not impressed. However, we still had a nice time doing something different together.  We love Bass Hall❤️ We had opening night tickets and got a GREAT deal! I went in this week and had my polyps removed plus they did a biopsy. I was more sore and for longer than I anticipated. Yes, the doctor said recovery was about 10 days, but I really only anticipated maybe 3-4. Boy, was I wrong! It's been 7 days now and by 10 I think I will be completely back to normal.   We picked up lime sodas from 7 brew. They were so good! In a completely unexpected twist of availability, we ended up celebrating St Patrick's Day with C & H. We aren't really fanatics about the day, but we usually watch Leap Year and have a green shake. This time we went to C's for dinner. He made his pulled pork and it was FANTASTIC! We really love pulled pork and don't have it very often. I made some potato salad, beans, and a coconut cake to go with it. In spirit of the day, C made us green beer, though I really don't think you can call a Michelob Zero a beer. I am not really a beer fan and the Michelob Zero tasted pretty good! I will definitely have some again. We had a great visit! I really value time with loved ones.  Izzy wasn't sure about sharing her chair.😂 H is doing well and has lost a lot of weight!
