411 The Walters Bunch

  T sent off several extra invitations to his Graduation cookout to several businesses. Apparently, A informed him that recent grads are doing that and some companies send them free things. He probably sent out 13 or so to different companies. I was really worried that people would just show up to our cookout but fortunately that didn't happen. He has had 2 companies send him some graduation stuff. One was a Christian publishing company and the other was the Mavericks. I didn't think anyone would send him anything so kudos to them for going the extra mile. I ended up setting out 10# of thighs instead of breasts to grill so I had to go get 10# of breasts. We had 20# of chicken and 16 hot dogs for 9 people! I was worried that the rain would cause problems with grilling, but we just pushed everything back an hour and it worked out....though I am not doing anymore grilling for awhile. That took Forever! T had his birthday party at Slick City and had so much fun that he decided to celebrate his highschool graduation there. He and his friends had a blast! I actually booked an official party through the company this time. Not only did it save us a few bucks, but someone else was in charge of checking everyone in, getting the pizzas, and cleaning up. We were literally the only party during our time frame so we had the entire party area to ourselves. It was fantastic! Slick City is an extreme slide and trampoline park. The boys did slide on some of the slides but mostly just played basketball on the trampoline court. The party hostess did get on the intercom to wish T a very happy birthday on his special day.😂 It became a running joke about wishing him happy birthday.  After nearly a month at the mechanic's shop, we finally got our SUV back. I have no idea why it took so long, but for the amount of money we paid to fix it, it better not have anything major go wrong for like 4 years!! ...

Well, I didn't take any pictures again 😔 No worries though. Next week we have a lot planned so there should be lots of new pictures. Here's a flashback from Google to enjoy!  We have been so busy getting ready for T's graduation parties, getting him ready for school in August (which he was very upset to learn he has to go to school on his birthday 😂), dealing with the cars issue, and now Axl surprised us by breaking the couch. It's a lot, but hopefully we can enjoy the slower pace of summer soon. We haven't even had time to get our fun jar ideas together! That's a big deal for us. We love the fun jar! I figure we're so busy right now anyways that we won't be able to start for a couple of weeks anyways.  The most pressing issue is our lack of a cars. We are so grateful for the loaner from D's friend. I really don't know what we will decide to do. The little mirage commuter car is definitely not coming back. My Grandbaby Blob from the latest appointment.🥰  Two months ago we were blissfully unaware how this summer would start. This down hill slide all started when T totaled the Volvo, then the SUV had engine issues, and this week the transmission went out in D's little commuter car. Basically, we went from 3 cars to no cars in a span of about 2 months. Thank goodness we found the BMW a lot faster than I thought we would find something and so far I haven't missed the seat warmers as much as I thought I would 😂. Maybe in December I will. Surprisingly, what I miss most is the blind spot sensors. I didn't realize how much I actually used them to double check myself. I do love that the wipers can be set to auto and speed up or stop depending on how much precipitation it senses. I also LOVE how the interior of the car is low lit at night so I can always see into every corner/cubby, but not blind everyone. Overall, we love it. It's a little peppy I think for T, but it is what it ...

  T's last honor guard event. He can't participate after he turns 18. First, and most importantly, both my dad and D's mom are home from the hospital and both are recovering nicely. My Dad's platelets are at 384,000 after being at 2000 when he checked in to the hospital! He is responding very well to his treatment. He has 4 more weekly doses and then they will switch him to a maintenance plan. He will always have to get treatments for his cancer since it's not curable, but he should be able to maintain a fairly normal life by getting the treatments.  C and H had their first official obstetrician appointment this week. The new due date is December 5 and yes, they found out what the gender is and no they aren't telling us until June 14 at the gender reveal. I personally think it will be a girl. I know H's family is really hoping for a boy since they have no boys on that side. I don't really care what it is. I am just super excited about having a grandbaby ...

  The past couple of weeks have been a little crazy with my dad being in the hospital and now D's mom being in the hospital. D's mom went in to have a planned surgery and unexpectedly, right before being sent home, developed blood clots in her lungs that they had to do an emergency procedure to remove them. It was by divine intervention that she was still at the hospital when this occurred or the outcome could have been a lot worse. She was transferred from the surgical hospital to the main hospital and is now in ICU. Unfortunately, after several clots were removed from her lungs, one developed in her thigh that made them decide to put a filter in to catch them before they could make it to her lungs again. It does carry the risk of the filter becoming clogged causing her to have an issue, but she will be on blood thinners for the rest of her life so hopefully that won't ever happen.  My dad has been slowly improving. These tractors are huge! Things have been a little crazy here. We have been working on finishing school, scheduling the things T needs to get done before he can start college in the fall, scheduling his graduation party, and trying to help my mom while my Dad is in the hospital. A and I also were able to find an hour to go to our local farmers market. Our town has grown so much over the last couple of years! It feels more like your typical suburb now instead of the quaint little town we moved to 10 years ago. Our quiet little two lane highway has now become a bustling 4 lane road with medians. We have several commercial shopping areas going in, though I do actually really like having a grocery store in town! It's only 10 miles each way now to go get groceries instead of 30! We have an actual apartment complex now and multiple housing developments going in. I am NOT excited about all the new neighborhoods, but so far it hasn't really reached us yet.   I will miss having the entire place to ourselves this summer when everyone is on break. At first this week was just roaring by. We are finishing school, knocking out the things T needs to do before college starts, planning parties, and organizing our summer. We even went to play pickleball this week and with my new Reebok Nano cross trainers A said I played like a "real person". Apparently, in her mind this a compliment. However, she was right! I love these shoes! They are really sturdy and keep your ankles from rolling so I had no issues making hard lateral movements. In fact, the adults only lost each of our games by no more than two points and one game went into "overtime".  The kids seemed confused as to what was happening.😂 T also finished the Trail Life equivalent of his Eagle Scout award! He sought donations, planned, and supervised the installation of a basketball goal for the youth ministry at church. They were thrilled! T even talked to the managers at ...

Congratulations 🎉 🎉 👏 👏 We can't wait to see your dreams come true!! This past weekend we went to T's highschool graduation!😢 I can't believe he is really done.....well almost. We actually have a couple of weeks left, but this was when he had his ceremony. It was held at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We ran into so many wrecks on our way to downtown Ft Worth that it took us almost 2 hours to get there! D ended up taking us by his old childhood home. Apparently, he never realized it backed up to the college!😂 This was so much better than when L graduated. There was only 2 ceremonies in Texas for homeschoolers so we had almost a 100 there and the announcer went too fast and everyone kind of backed up. This time there was only 43 and each student got to have their moment until they were completely off the stage. It was about 45 seconds per graduate.
