The Bunch Say Goodbye

Bye, Maisy. We love you.♥️  This was a hard week. We have known for awhile it was coming, but we decided over the weekend we just needed to not be selfish and not prolong her life. Could she have gone another 6 months, maybe a year? Absolutely, but she was having more bad days than good days and while she still acted super happy, it was hard watching her not be able to control her bowels and not having very good use of her back legs. We all were with her at A's work and stayed with her until the end. It was hard. She was so devoted to us. She would have been 17 in October. It's been weird here without my Velcro dog. She was literally everywhere I was for the last almost 12 years. You need to find Mom, just look wherever the dog is laying to know what door I last used. It's been harder than I thought it would. I miss her. Last fall Every now and then Noelle could get her to play with her like when she was a kitten. Most of the time she wouldn't play with her the last cou...

The Bunch Endure The Heat

She was a trooper. She doesn't like swimming in the lake so she just read a book under a tree in the crazy heat.  It is expected for it to be hot in Texas in August. Is the heat anything crazy this year? No. It's pretty average, but after almost 3 weeks of over 100 degrees it really starts wearing on you. I am tired of having to get up and get everything done outside before 12. We also don't run the dishwasher, dryer, or big oven after 12. When it's over 100 we have to cool the horses off with a bath, chickens get misters, and we are nearly constantly watering the trees/garden. This year I decided not to do the big garden so after the 2nd week in July when we pulled up all the onions, I had nothing to keep up with in the August heat....and it was wonderful! It worked out well that I didn't plant a garden because we weren't expecting all the stuff to go down this summer that did so it was nice not to have something else that needed taking care of .  We once aga...

The Bunch Have A Fairly Relaxed Week

We had so much fun! This week has been pretty typical for a "normal"  summer. We have had such a crazy past few months, it feels like things are FINALLY settling down and things are getting back to our new normal. We have been busy getting T ready for school. He has had to order his books, uniforms, boots, and stethoscope. He has also been making sure that all his paperwork is finished and that everything is in order to start school on the 25th. D had two full days of overtime this week so he only had off a couple of days. We spent one day going to look at used commuter cars for T, which was frustrating. I hate car shopping!  We spent the other day doing activities from the fun jar. It was a fantastic day! We went to an 80's themed arcade that has a ton of fun video games, ski ball, and basketball games. We spent about two hours just playing games and enjoying ourselves. We always have a great time there.  Afterwards, we went to the second hand book store and A and I got s...
