411 The Walters Bunch

  Aunt P picked a lovely cemetery. It was so beautiful and peaceful. For the past 8 years or so we have helped our Aunt P.  We have had numerous visits and conversations over the years, not to mention dinners and root beer floats. We have watched her physical health decline while her mental health was still sharp as tack. Sadly, the last month of her life she had started to have several moments where she didn't know what was going on. We had numerous conversations about her death with her and we are very happy in knowing that she finally has the relief she wanted. The past year in particular was VERY hard on her and she needed help more. D and I would visit almost every Wednesday and Saturday, plus whenever she called for help. It was nice to talk to her. She was witty, smart, knew the answer to just about anything, and did a wonderful job of making you feel special and loved. There were a ton of people!  A was really bummed that she got called in at the last minute to do a C section and missed our town's July 4th festival that she had been looking forward to. Our town does July 4th on the last Saturday in June. I am really not sure why they do that, but since Gainesville has their's on actual July 4th and A wasn't on call, we decided to go try that one out. Unfortunately, D had to work the next morning so he wasn't able to join us, but Axl needed a babysitter so it all worked out. A invited her new boyfriend to join us. It turned out to be a fun evening. The festival was at the municipal airport so it was a lot hotter there than the Sanger festival was because of all the buildings blocking the breeze and all of the concrete retaining heat. However, they were pros at getting everyone in and out. There was virtually no slow down when we left. The fireworks were great! Overall, it was a fun night.  They had some fun toys that we could climb on ...

I can't believe I managed not to get anyone else in the shot! This was actually a fun week! Things are starting to slow down a little and we had a few fun things planned.  First off A is REALLY tired of working this summer. In the past 2 weeks A has only had one day off and spent the entire weekend at work on call and not leaving until 10 pm. She normally loves her work but also knows she doesn't want to do it full time. She enjoys her 25-30 hours a week. She even got called in on Saturday literally on our way out the door to enjoy our town's fourth of July festival. She had really been excited to go, but unfortunately got called back in to work for the third time that day to do a surgery and ended up not being able to leave until 10pm. She has been going out a couple of times with the new guy she's dating, but mostly she's just working. She's counting the days down until July is over and she goes back to her regular schedule.
