The Bunch Say Goodbye

Aunt P picked a lovely cemetery. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

For the past 8 years or so we have helped our Aunt P.  We have had numerous visits and conversations over the years, not to mention dinners and root beer floats. We have watched her physical health decline while her mental health was still sharp as tack. Sadly, the last month of her life she had started to have several moments where she didn't know what was going on. We had numerous conversations about her death with her and we are very happy in knowing that she finally has the relief she wanted. The past year in particular was VERY hard on her and she needed help more. D and I would visit almost every Wednesday and Saturday, plus whenever she called for help. It was nice to talk to her. She was witty, smart, knew the answer to just about anything, and did a wonderful job of making you feel special and loved. I once told her that I would really miss our chats when she was gone...I will. I really enjoyed getting to know her and the depth of our friendship. It makes my heart happy that before she died she talked to all her family and knew she was loved. In fact, D and I saw her the morning before she went to the hospital. The very last thing we told her, like we did every time we saw her, was that we loved her and to get some rest. She was so thoughtful always sending us messages about shows she thought we would like. Most of the time she was right! She even got us hooked on BritBox.😂 She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. Wednesdays and Saturdays will feel different for awhile.

She picked Roselawn in Denton as her final resting spot and even though she never visited the location it was a perfect spot for her.

Even though we are very happy for her, we still got choked up talking about her life. She had really put things in perspective in the last few years and family was everything to her. She even told us she watched Dancing with the Stars just so she could have something to talk to her brother about.❤️

She was very against being in the ground and bought herself a crypt.

I think she would have liked the casket color we picked

Watching them seal it back up was interesting.

RIP Aunt P. ....her death plaque will be added in about 8 weeks.

Pop Pop and two of the grandkids.

It just so happened that all this started on the first day of D's planned vacation from work. Instead of movies, dinners, and games, it became hospital visits, funeral preparations, and moving Aunt P's stuff out of her apartment. It worked out well since we had the extra time, but I definitely owe D some fun days and NOT work days. Oh and on top of all that, our hay guy called and we had to move a 120 bales of 50+lbs each of hay in 100 degree weather. It has been a very manual labor two weeks. Our bodies are just tired. T helped us a couple of times which was wonderful, but it's mostly been just D and I. I look forward to a slower, more fun week this week. I am thinking a lake trip might be in order!

The first of 2 loads. You have to load and unload each trailer. It's a lot of work.

D and A had their Father's Day celebration. First, they played at the arcade and then went to get massages.

They had a fun time!

We FINALLY drew from the Family Fun Jar! We picked a family game, which we played Catan again. We love that game. It's so fun! We also picked read a short story out loud. We picked a murder mystery one.

A and her boyfriend went to see Hamilton at Bass Hall this week.

They also took a day trip to Waco and went to the zoo.

Funny story. We decided to finally catch our deck cat, DC, and take her to get spayed. Imagine our surprise when the next morning we had a cat we had never seen in the trap! So we took her to get spayed instead and will try again to catch DC.😂 She is really tiny and super cute. She's in our garage recovering....so far she's not too feral. I will probably let her out in a couple of days if she doesn't have any issues. It will be rough for her not having A/C! I turned the garage up to 81 but it's definitely not 105!

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...

The Bunch's Streak Of Bad Luck Continues

We made great time on the way there! It's amazing how leaving only 30 minutes later can help immensely with traffic. I wish all the shows started at 8 instead of 7:30.  What a week this was! We went to Bass Hall to see Back to the Future. It was ok. Definitely not the best play we have seen. The boys went with us and since the last two shows they joined us for were The Outsiders, which is one of, if not our most, favorite show ever, and A Christmas Story, which is in probably in the top 6, they were really not impressed. However, we still had a nice time doing something different together.  We love Bass Hall❤️ We had opening night tickets and got a GREAT deal! I went in this week and had my polyps removed plus they did a biopsy. I was more sore and for longer than I anticipated. Yes, the doctor said recovery was about 10 days, but I really only anticipated maybe 3-4. Boy, was I wrong! It's been 7 days now and by 10 I think I will be completely back to normal. Unfortunately, sh...
