The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.

We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances, which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with going on a "hike" at Arbor Hills Nature preserve in Plano. The entire 6 miles was concrete, but it was a great spot and I was surprised we never knew it existed before. It was actually quite busy even though it was mid day on a Monday. We found some great spots to take pictures for T's senior pics once the vegetation starts coming in. We walked around and explored there for about 3 miles or so. Afterwards we went to experience Legacy Hall. Legacy Hall is a very interesting concept. They rent space to people who want to try to start a restaurant. The businesses are given a period of time to try out their idea. When that time is up they either move on to a real space or give up. There was about 20 different things to choose from plus upstairs are some bars and stages for live music. We had a fantastic time! We tried a BBQ place's brisket nachos, an Italian''s place chicken alfredo, and a cobb salad from a place that cooks its chicken in duck fat. The chicken alfredo was very okay, we won't ever eat there again. The salad with the duck fried chicken was pretty good, but the star of the show was the nachos. They were excellent! For dessert, we tried a place that makes crepes. We picked Nutella and strawberries. A has not stopped talking about how she wants another one! The crepe place also has savory ones which we might try next time too. When we were done trying out all our food, we decided to head to the movies and see Hopper. It was actually a pretty cute movie. A had wanted to see it and although I didn't think I would enjoy it, I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, we had a really fun day!

This week we are getting T ready to go to his girlfriend's prom. This should be interesting!

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. It's hard to believe this gem is in the middle of a bustling city.

The path is quite wide and even someone with a wheelchair could easily use these trails while enjoying time with their family.

It had an overlook tower where we will probably do some of T's senior pictures.

The nachos were enormous! We ate every bite though 😂

The salad was pretty good. I wasn't super fond of the duck fat chicken bites, but everyone else loved them.🤷 I really liked the salad though.

The movie was mostly full on a Monday at 2:45, which was weird since Tuesday is discount day.

Sadly, the church T goes to camp with each summer, decided to switch to a different camp this summer so he won't be able to compete in  the mullet competition.... therefore he got a hair cut!

We met A for lunch since our hair place is by her work. It was really cold outside.

We moved inside which was much better. This was a sandwich place that was really good! They also serve different items for dinner, which we would like to try one day.

He shaved off his beard! I like it so much better! It makes him look younger.

Everyone loves Axl's bed 😂

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Visit Family

We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. She's been under the weather and we hadn't had a visit in a couple weeks so it was nice t...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...
