| D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all. |
We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new
appliances, which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2
cars to get repaired, one of which was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with going on a "hike" at Arbor Hills Nature preserve in Plano. The entire 6 miles was concrete, but it was a great spot and I was surprised we never knew it existed before. It was actually quite busy even though it was mid day on a Monday. We found some great spots to take pictures for T's senior pics once the vegetation starts coming in. We walked around and explored there for about 3 miles or so. Afterwards we went to experience Legacy Hall. Legacy Hall is a very interesting concept. They rent space to people who want to try to start a restaurant. The businesses are given a period of time to try out their idea. When that time is up they either move on to a real space or give up. There was about 20 different things to choose from plus upstairs are some bars and stages for live music. We had a fantastic time! We tried a BBQ place's brisket nachos, an Italian''s place chicken alfredo, and a cobb salad from a place that cooks its chicken in duck fat. The chicken alfredo was very okay, we won't ever eat there again. The salad with the duck fried chicken was pretty good, but the star of the show was the nachos. They were excellent! For dessert, we tried a place that makes crepes. We picked Nutella and strawberries. A has not stopped talking about how she wants another one! The crepe place also has savory ones which we might try next time too. When we were done trying out all our food, we decided to head to the movies and see Hopper. It was actually a pretty cute movie. A had wanted to see it and although I didn't think I would enjoy it, I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, we had a really fun day!
This week we are getting T ready to go to his girlfriend's prom. This should be interesting!

| Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. It's hard to believe this gem is in the middle of a bustling city. |
| The path is quite wide and even someone with a wheelchair could easily use these trails while enjoying time with their family. |
| It had an overlook tower where we will probably do some of T's senior pictures. |
| The nachos were enormous! We ate every bite though 😂 |
| The salad was pretty good. I wasn't super fond of the duck fat chicken bites, but everyone else loved them.🤷 I really liked the salad though. |
| The movie was mostly full on a Monday at 2:45, which was weird since Tuesday is discount day. |
| Sadly, the church T goes to camp with each summer, decided to switch to a different camp this summer so he won't be able to compete in the mullet competition.... therefore he got a hair cut! |
| We met A for lunch since our hair place is by her work. It was really cold outside. |
| We moved inside which was much better. This was a sandwich place that was really good! They also serve different items for dinner, which we would like to try one day. |
| He shaved off his beard! I like it so much better! It makes him look younger. |
| Everyone loves Axl's bed 😂 |
