The Bunch Operate A Feral Cat Surgical Center

The closest she'll ever be to DC...she was scared she'd wake up! 😂

At least that's what it feels like! We caught the first cat, who D thought looked like Tom from Tom and Jerry, so we named her Tommi. We then caught DC (deck cat) who we had been trying to catch originally. Tommi was pretty docile for a feral cat. However, DC was apparently the worse cat A has ever had to deal with!😂 She was so mean and fighting so hard that it took them over an hour and a half to sedate her! Plus they gave her  9 lbs body enough drugs to sedate a 100# dog! A said even after she FINALLY fell asleep she was still afraid to touch her 😂. However, since she has been here in the garage recovery center she's been an angel. In fact, both cats let me clean their cages and feed them every day with no issues as long as I don't try to touch them. I worry about the garage being to cold for them. I don't want to shock them with the heat when I put them back outside. I turned the air in there up to 84 so it's cool enough to recover comfortably but not so cold that they can hopefully adapt to being back outside easier. It will be such a waste of money if they just go outside and die after all this. We have one more cat to catch tonight and then I think we have them all. I just hope we don't catch another unexpected cat. Our self funded feral program is getting expensive even with a good discount. I just don't want to end up with an entire feral colony around us.....we never had this problem until they started building neighborhoods near us and people just let their cats run around outside not fixed. People annoy me.
DC. She still has a few more days to recover.

Tommi will be released early tomorrow morning.

We finished with most of Aunt P's stuff. We finished cleaning her apartment out and will turn the keys in on Wednesday. We still have some estate stuff to do which will probably require going to probate unfortunately. It took D and I probably 40 hours to go through and move all her stuff. I was really glad she had already downsized some. It was surprising how much she still had. We have learned valuable information on how to make things easier for our kids when we die.
T got his uniform this week for his EMS training. He is excited! He looks like such a little grown up!🥰
Doesn't he look good?!?

We're very proud of him.❤️

This is A's last Tuesday to work before going back to her normal schedule. She couldn't be happier! She has literally been counting down to this moment for the past 8 weeks. She has worked so much this summer, not only on Tuesday, but has been regularly called in for after hour services too. She is ready for a slow down.

D went back to work this week after his more than 2 weeks off for his "vacation". He has to work 9 out of the next 11 days so he's making up for his time off. We did decide to go ahead and take T's senior trip before he starts school in the fall so we're looking forward to that. We need some fun trips!

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...

The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with...
