The Bunch Celebrate the 4th in Coppell

Happy July 4th!

It has become a family tradition to celebrate the 4th of July on July 3rd at Coppell's annual celebration. They put on a great firework show and have LOTS of free activities for the children. It is geared towards the little kids and up through elementary aged, though the older kids have fun dancing to the live band and throwing a ball or Frisbee around. This is the first year I have ever had a complaint about their set up. However, this year   they decided only two port a potties would suffice for a few thousand people. Well, we all know when little kids decide to stop having fun to go to the bathroom that they need to go right then. This year though they got to wait at least 30 minutes and do it without toilet paper because SURPRISE one roll in each of the two port a potties didn't last several thousand people for a few hours! My only other complaint has nothing to do with the city. It has to do with other parents. I have yet to realize that why when some parents get together they start talking that they completely ignore what their kids are doing. The parents next to us were letting their kids throw rocks at a mama and her baby ducks, towards people on the other bank, and run around pushing through people. I hate having to get on to other peoples kids, but I do when NO ONE is paying any attention to what they are doing. I still do not think that the people sitting right next to us ever realized I had to correct their children's behavior 3 times. Except for those two issues, we had a great time like always. It is great family fun and this year with the low humidity and temp only in the low 90's it was even better. Last year was high humidity and about 107 or so and by comparison this was perfect. I hope the Texas heat holds off, but what would Texas be if it wasn't for the scalding summer temps, at least the pool doesn't feel like bath water yet!
Aren't they cute?....They still did not get a bite!

T sliding down one of the 3 inflatables...line was 1/3 of that for the bathroom!

L slides down another inflatable.

T meets the firefighter captain and loses the ability to speak.

T is so excited about his pirate balloon sword.

A gets a dachshund on a leash.

Kids have fun on the train ride.

T falls on his balloon 30 minutes later.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
