Happy Valentines Day from the Bunch

Enjoying a great day sunny day at the zoo!

What better way to say "hey kids, I love you" on Valentines Day than a trip to the Dallas zoo. Oh wait... that's right... I spend every waking second with my kids. I feed them, school them, take them on trips, buy them clothes, have birthday parties, and yet some how that is not enough. I still HAVE to get them something for Valentines Day.  I am probably the only woman, who is married, that HATES valentines day. If my husband came home with a gift on Valentines Day I would probably lose it. No scratch that, I would lose it and start yelling. He does not need to spend money on some frivolous holiday that someone else decided we should show our love on. He does wonderful nice things all year that are a nice surprise for me and mean even more to me than if he did something on the same day everyone else does. Anyways, back to the kids. I do get them a little something to celebrate. They get a small box of chocolates and heart shaped red pancakes, except the oldest who I buy lunch for. We did really go to the zoo on Valentines Day, but it was a re-scheduled field trip from a couple weeks before that was canceled due to the ice storm.
This was a really hard pic to get, they all kept sliding off!

As usual, we had a wonderful time. I grew up hearing how horrible the Dallas Zoo was and so we always went to the Ft Worth Zoo. We experienced the Dallas Zoo for the first time about 2 years ago and we all agree it is our personal favorite now. The African Savannah exhibit is wonderful. It is so cool to be able to see an elephant run and play. The children's area is so much fun. We could easily stay in that one section for about 2 or 3 hours, we usually limit it to about an hour though so we can see the rest of the zoo. We also like all the interpretive times they have. It gives you a real feel of what they do for each animal. We go once a year during January and February for their penguin days when admission is only $5pp. We look forward to it.  I highly recommend going if you are in the area. It is a fun way to enjoy a nice day.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
