The Bunch Celebrate Birthday Week

Of the six people in our immediate family, 3 of us have a birthday with in 10 days of each other. This means that the oldest daughter and youngest son always have a combined party and I spend my birthday planning what they will we do for their birthday. We have so many treats that week that I literally can't even think of butter or sugar with out feeling sick. This year my daughter wanted a movie star theme and my son lego star wars. I call it Hollywood Legos. I made some light sabers from pool noodles, turned the front door into a Lego, and my daughter made a red carpet star walk. We took the kids to the trampoline park down the street, but were disappointed in it. They had fun, but the one we went to for their cousins birthday the month before in Keller was a lot more fun.  My kids had fun though so that was all that mattered.

AJ with her clapboard brownie cake she made.

Her walk of fame.....had the guests names on the stars.

Time for gifts

I do a lot of things well, icing a cake is not one of them. It least it looks like a Lego.

AJ photo bombs my Lego cup picture.

We took off the birthday week from school so we could prepare for the said party without too much stress. One day we went to the Lego castles exhibit at the CR Smith museum. It was really neat. This museum does really neat exhibits in the summer and I highly recommend it if you have kids.
Nothing like the obvious.

Too Cool!

My big kid played intently for about 45 minutes building his castle! :)

T started basketball last week and really liked it. The girls started floorball. The past 3 years the kids have taken gymnastics and while they are getting really good I want them to experience new things to see what they may like. So T is doing karate and basketball this semester while the girls are doing modern dance and floorball. So back to floorball,  we never have heard of floorball before, we never watch hockey, we have never played in a group sport, and basically have no idea what to do. Not a big deal right, since we are taking a class. We get the girls their sticks and balls and head to our first practice all set to learn how to play. We quickly figure out, once Ashlyn is picked for the face off, that there is no instruction. They kids just play games for the hour non-competitively! You should have seen her face trying to figure out what to do in the face off, all while daddy is screaming instructions from the sideline. yep. We were that family. Needless to say the girls got a crash course in floor ball. We will be giving them some sort of instruction on basic playing and dribbling before the next time. They did leave thinking it was fun so once they learn how to play I think they will really enjoy it.
Our first floorball experience.

Last week she wore an apron and played house with the girls, this week a cowboy hat to play cowboys with T.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
