The Bunch Celebrate the 4th

                                                              Happy July 4th!

In keeping with tradition, we attend the July 4th celebration that the city puts on every year on July 3rd. The kids and I had fun making our shirts this year and as a bonus I think they turned out really cute. They did not have the train rides and bounce houses this year because of all the recent flooding, but we still had a good time. Our eldest son was able to go with us this year and it made it even more special to have the whole family together. Next to Christmas, July 4th is my favorite holiday. I love the emphasis that is put on family get togethers and spending leisure time with the ones you love. I will miss these outings greatly when all the kids are gone. The fireworks show was almost 30 minutes long and was spectacular. It was a wonderful night.
The kids did great on their shirts!

He is making his pirate face.

It is a baby rattle balloon.

They got their patriotic glitter tattoos.

We don't travel anywhere lightly!

Our eldest son relaxing before the fireworks.

D had vacation this week so the kids spent a couple of days at their grandparents while we enjoyed some quality time together. We went to Nebraska Furniture Mart one afternoon to just check it out and were overwhelmed by the sheer size of it. It was neat and had great prices, but definitely have an idea of what you want before you go!

We took the kids to see the free museums in Grapevine and had a wonderful time. The settlement museum was interesting, but the kids thought (and so did we) the Wizard of Oz exhibit in the Visitors Center was really fun. They had different interactive scenes set up through out the exhibit and even though we played for about 45 minutes, they asked for us to come back when they could play for 3 hours. Hmmmm, something free to go do one day in July that is air conditioned? I didn't need to think about that...."Sure, we'll come back".
In black and white, just like the movie.

Several fun games to play here.

You put your hand on the heart and feel what is feels like at rest, walking, or skipping.

You need courage to crawl through the dark cave.

Tap 3 times and say "there is no place like home".

The fan fills the hot air balloon.

Not really a munchkin.
Here's my little munchkin

They had a blast building the brick road, A even has Dorthy's braids.

After  a long time dreaming about not having to set up the tent, we decided to buy a trailer.  After becoming sick and tired of salesmen and financing paperwork, I asked around and another fellow homeschool mom was selling a pop up that would work for us. We bought the pop up and cannot wait to try it out soon. It needs a little work, but it's 16 years old and is bought and paid for so no payments. yay!  I will post pics when we finally are able to use it in a couple of months.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
