The Bunch Enjoy Our Fabulous Winter!

Ok, if you are reading this anywhere other than the mid southern states, you are probably wondering what is so fabulous about this winter. While the majority of the U.S. has had very cold bitter weather with tons of snow, about 5 mid southern states have enjoyed spring like weather pretty much all winter. I feel bad for everyone, but the weather is so great out that I really don't think too much about it.
We went to the Dallas Zoo last week and not only was the weather great, but the zoo was not very crowded. The Dallas Zoo is our favorite. We use to favor the Ft Worth Zoo, but Dallas has worked hard over the years to make their habitats more natural and interactive. They have done a great job and now it is our favorite. We had as great time watching the keeper talks and looking at all the animals who were out and about enjoying this wonderful weather.
We have also been able to get a lot of yard work done. Every year the kids play "the pokey game".  They race to see who can collect the most seeds that drop from our sweet gum tree, I.e. Pokeys, and whoever wins gets an ice cream or soda.  This is a big deal for them because I rarely allow unhealthy food except on holidays or birthdays. L won this time with 544, T had 514, and A had 454. Yes, I counted EVERY.SINGLE. ONE. Unfortunately, this year we will get to play twice because only half have dropped off the tree so far!
We have had some issues with Maisy to deal with. In the past week she has chewed through two harnesses while out on walks.
She tried to eat the neighbor's cat that loves to tease her, but luckily the cat was able to give back as good as it got. She was nursing some pretty good scratches for a few days. She is now awaiting a new and hopefully stronger head halter. I am growing weary of her bad behavior towards other dogs. I think she is about to get sent to professional. I have helped her get better about barking and yelping when she sees other dogs, but she still yanks my shoulder out of socket.
We had our Valentine party on Friday.  It was fun. We played minute to win it games and watched a documentary on the history of Valentine's day......which is rather disgusting and not entirely appropriate for children to celebrate.  Unfortunately, I may never look at Valentine's Day the same again. If you are interested to see how it originated just you tube it......don't say I didn't warn you.
I hope everyone is well. See you soon!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
