The Bunch Speed Through the New Year

Our house is finally back in full swing.  We not only have found a church that we more or less agree upon, but are back to all our extracurricular activities. The kids are not only taking their gymnastics class, but taking turns participating in a sport and the younger two take science classes at the library. We are back to being busy again!

T is the first kid up to do his sport. He picked flag football, which he seems to really like. Unfortunately, the first game was a double header with an hour practice before hand. Basically, we fried in the 88 degree day for over 3 hours! Lots of sun burns! Yes, it is February here, but it's Texas, though to be fair the high for next weeks game is only 58.  I am not looking forward to L's games in May. We will have to remember an umbrella so we can have some shade. She gets her turn next and picked soccer. A hasn't decided yet, but is leaning towards cheer.

We just discovered our automatic sprinklers actually go through the whole 2 acres. What we can't figure out is how to make them work! We can get five zones to go off regularly, but 2 have only gone off once and 2 not at all. It is really frustrating. We might have to call someone to show us how to work the sprinklers. I really feel that with 3 college degrees among us that we should be able to turn water on!

I finally received the trees I ordered. I ordered from Womack's Nursery and they have great reviews. I was a little disappointed in how small the trees were when they arrived, but have planted all 6 in the front yard and in about 10 years maybe I can have fresh produce. Not to mention a wind break, it is so windy here ALL OF THE TIME!

Since Valentine's Day is on Tuesday, we celebrated Sunday after church.  We played some minute to win it games and had a lot of fun. The kids have really taken to our little Valentines Day party and it has become a tradition over the past three years,
move one marshmallow at a time with chopsticks in one minute

Now try it with straws

And then try it elevated while making it into the ice cream cone.

Make balled up sock pairs into the basket. T won at this with 7.

T's first game...nice and sunny

Still sunny

Maisy has caught the rabbit that lives under the deck. I thought it might be the mama so D disassembled part of the deck to look for the nest. We found it and as we were digging around in it to see if something was there it hopped out and scared us to death. I guess that means the rabbit is big enough to get around on his own so we removed the nest and are hoping they will move else where so Maisy stops killing them off. I don't like finding dead chewed up rabbits.  While the deck was being put back together, we decided that it should probably be resealed. D was so excited about that!

Have a great Valentine's Day!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
