The Bunch Welcomes a New Year!

Merry Christmas!

Happy New Year Everyone! I can't believe another year has gone by. It is ironic isn't it? As you get older, the years fly by at a faster and faster pace. I really have made a conscious decision to let go of things that don't really matter (I mean why waste my time, it's precious) and focus more on things I do enjoy (like family). That's not to mean that I don't do anything I don't like. I mean cleaning out the chickens everyday and stomping out in single digits to unfreeze their water is definitely not enjoyable, but I must admit in nice weather they are fun to watch. Though if one of the roosters tries to attack me again, I may end up with one less chicken.

We have been stuck inside these past few days because of the artic weather. Again, the south does get cold (really cold on some days), but we rebound fairly quickly and after a week should once again be enjoying nice mild winter days. Unfortunately, our time inside during this cold snap coincided with us all having a terrible cold (which made the multiple trips out to the coop that more fun). We basically just coughed our insides out and watched TV.  It was NOT fun. Thank goodness we are all starting to be on the mend. It is hanging on forever though.

Other than the illness, we had a nice Christmas. We enjoyed the down time by visiting family, watching Christmas movies, and seeing lights. The lights at Texas Motor Speedway were nice. I think after Branson's Christmas Décor that nothing can really compete in the decoration and lighting department. However, it was still a great display and we enjoyed it immensely. I think the neatest part was getting to go into the center of the speedway and have the track going around you. Santa's village is there and has a variety of things to do for the kids. We saw a guy there who carried his dachshund around in a baby carrier! It was really cute (or really weird jury is still out).

Cookie and her shenanigans

Christmas morning..

Maisy has to be part of any celebration!

My in-laws celebrated with us.

Look carefully, Maisy is helping T with his packages.

He was good boy this year! ;)

Very excited over his letter.....L was jealous and never got one. Not sure what happened there.

My baby turns 39. (Isn't it cute he hasn't reached 40 yet?)

The joy of letting the dog out in the country with ANY sort of ground moisture!

The kids are getting older so Christmas is at an acceptable time now. I think we started at about 7am this year. Yay! We opened presents and had a wonderful breakfast. Santa always leaves clues for the kids to find their present and it is always fun to see them "hunt" for their gifts. We also had some family over for lunch. It was a nice low key gathering that we enjoyed.

Happy New Year!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
