The Bunch in Quarantine Week #6..

Maisy's typical school day. It really messed her up when D was home last week....he takes her spot! As with most of the country right now, we haven't been doing much of anything. D did have off this past week and we had wonderful family togetherness quarantining.  The baby chicks were finally moved outside. At least during the day they have outside time, we still bring them inside at night when it gets cool and during thunderstorms. There is a HUGE size discrepancy. This baby barely comes up the the top of the legs of the full grown hens! They aren't too sure of their new surroundings. We also FINALLY got the travel trailer's warranty work finished from LAST MAY! It took them a year to not only order the right parts, but get ALL the parts, and install them. I see why so many rv-ers just do it themselves. It is the most frustrating experience. Unfortunately for the dealer, we can't go anywhere right now (or for the foreseeable future)so we have p

The Bunch Quarantine Week #5 and Easter

Maisy has to be in the middle of everything. T does Sweet Caroline Well, this week has been a little better. I turned off the news, quit getting corona virus updates (don't even care a little bit anymore), and even managed to score some toilet paper (I had to leave at 6:00 am, but I did find it).  We had a lot of fun watching T perform his Elvis songs, painting Easter eggs, and playing games together. A Easter Eggs       T Easter Eggs L Easter eggs Mom Easter Eggs To celebrate Easter, we had an egg hunt (indoors thanks to the bad weather), enjoyed some sweet bread that L made for breakfast and a special egg gravy with biscuits. For lunch we had ham, potato casserole, deviled eggs, and applesauce salad. We also rented Little Women and the new one is really good. I highly recommend it if you like that sort of movie. T is Elvis Crazy L is nothing if not fair at the start of the egg hunt! A spent a long time perfecting her eggs. It ma

The Bunch Quarantine Week 4 ....or is it 9872?

I don't think time has ever moved so slowly! Just about 4 weeks ago we entered into this crazy uncertain time, not knowing what the next month  would bring. Well, here we are. Week 4 in isolation and I still haven't found toilet paper, our adventures to the grocery store reveals that a lot of people are still out wandering around, and everyone is about to go crazy from being cooped up. I completely agree with the President, we need to start reopening the economy and let people slowly get back to work. We CANNOT shutter the economy for months on end. People need to use their own sense of judgement on how they want to protect their families and loved ones. I think the forced closure of most of the nation for such an extended period of time is starting to step on the freedoms that we are allowed as Americans. This is not some Communist country where government gets to dictate our lives. I understand this disease has devastated a few cities in the US, but several aren't t

The Bunch In Quarantine Week 3

While our life did not alter as drastically as most families, it apparently has been altered enough that the beginnings of restlessness are starting to appear.  Being the good wife and mother that I am, I have made sure to have lots of things planned to keep everyone busy. My newly organized garage is fantastic! We can see the pool table for the first time in a year! The kids have really played pool a lot lately since it has been so muddy outside. I have also had everyone keep up with their exercises by making them do Maggie Binkley videos on Amazon Prime. Don't let the fact she only has a 15 minute workout  (multiple levels/episodes) fool you. These videos will kick your butt! Everyone has had their sports season cancelled so I am making sure that they are moving and staying at least a little conditioned. The hardest part for us is the fact we can't go anywhere and explore. We basically have a camper in the driveway that is begging us to go somewhere new and have fun,
