The Bunch Celebrate my Birthday

Now that I am a couple of decades into celebrating my 24th birthday I think we have really been able to get it right. I must say I was a little heartbroken this year when for the first time in about 8 years my youngest daughter didn't surprise me with her homemade decorations. The past several years she has awakened before me and hung her homemade signs all over the house. I realize how hard she worked on crafting each one and how she worked so hard just to make me happy. I knew one day she would outgrow that stage and I am a little sad that this was that year. My youngest daughter is becoming a young woman and will no longer hand color my birthday signs. She did make me a beautiful card though and I will treasure it. Birthday Day started early 🎈🎉 No big deal for my youngest. He is always up early. My eldest daughter is ......less of a morning person. Isn't he cute? He totally gets his Mama. Her card almost matches my tattoo.  This year D was able to take off all of birthday

The Bunch Finish Week 2 of School and Visit Friends and Family

The approaching storm....which we had 50 mph winds and .01 inches of rain! Ok. Things have been pretty crazy the past couple of weeks. We are helping a family member move to a new apartment and have been busy with that, but also dealing with various doctor appointments and being ill.  First off, our first visit with friends in over 6 months was fantastic. It was by far one of the best two hours we have had in a long time. It really helps that several of their kids are the same age as ours are. Their oldest is only one year younger than L and they have a son who is one year older than T. They have 5 kids and the two youngest are twins. This couple is about 10 years younger than D and I but is pretty much us when we were that age ( they just have one more kid and after 3 who keeps count anyways). The kids LOVED visiting friends their own age and even A enjoyed spending time with kids that weren't family. Overall, it  was a great experience. We had to take our small car to the shop

The Bunch Finish Week 1 of School and Build a Fort

Things have been getting back to a more normal pre-pandemic level at our house now that school is back in session. Nothing about how we do school has changed except that we have no sports practices. I am so glad that the new homeschooling issues that have plagued my public school counter parts has not effected us at all. We already knew what to do and have been doing it for the past 12 years. I don't want to say I am a pro at it, but I definitely have not had any where near the stress level that other parents are having. The kids and I really hope this homeschooling lesson will give people more insight into what homeschooling is really like and stop some of the insane questions we use to get. The kids did really well at school this week and begrudgingly adjusted to doing school again with less complaining than I expected. A is super excited that her math class is Consumer Math. After all the issues she had with Geometry last year, her senior year is pretty relaxed. Most of her hard

The Bunch Get School Ready and Visit the Zoo

Oh, what great pics we get now! I love their smiles ❤️💗💓  Wow! This has been such a great week. Not only were the temps down, but we also lost a lot of the humidity. In fact, one morning the temp for our morning dog walk was only 67! In August! In Texas! I was actually cold and wanted a jacket. The afternoons were warm, but bareable. We are now back to our normal really hot and super humid summer weather, but we enjoyed it while it lasted. One day we even went to the zoo. Our zoo is never busy and we only saw about 9 other people while we were there so I felt safe. It was nice to get out and enjoy part of the day without experiencing heat exhaustion. One afternoon we played in the backyard with the kids. T had the time of his life throwing the football with his dad and L performed on the lyra.  T had so much throwing the ball with his dad. L actually practices a lot on the Lyra. He is really just a big kid. Awwww. A Covid selfie. It really just doesn't look comfortable. Iris, the
