The Bunch Finish Week 1 of School and Build a Fort

Things have been getting back to a more normal pre-pandemic level at our house now that school is back in session. Nothing about how we do school has changed except that we have no sports practices. I am so glad that the new homeschooling issues that have plagued my public school counter parts has not effected us at all. We already knew what to do and have been doing it for the past 12 years. I don't want to say I am a pro at it, but I definitely have not had any where near the stress level that other parents are having. The kids and I really hope this homeschooling lesson will give people more insight into what homeschooling is really like and stop some of the insane questions we use to get. The kids did really well at school this week and begrudgingly adjusted to doing school again with less complaining than I expected. A is super excited that her math class is Consumer Math. After all the issues she had with Geometry last year, her senior year is pretty relaxed. Most of her harder classes that are required are done and she only has 4 classes to take. Physics is her hardest class this year. She was pretty happy about how little time her school takes this year. She was done by lunchtime everyday this week.

Given how busy we were with school this week we did not really draw anything from the jar. One thing we did draw from the jar was make a fort. We had a lot of fun turning our living room into a giant fort. T makes forts all the time and really has his fort making technique down pat so it only took us about 10 minutes to make our fort, but we had lots of laughs while we did it!

We are slowly expanding our pandemic bubble. We started out only going to visit my parents once a week and now we have seen my in laws a couple of times plus this weekend we are going to visit another homeschool family that we use to do several things with. We aren't going to have a big party anytime soon, but it is nice to see family and friends on a small basis. We miss seeing everyone!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
