The Bunch------Prom Edition

We finally made it to prom day. It was a long time coming. Every ticket bought requires 4 hours of volunteer time. I had 8 hours of volunteer time required since we bought tickets for both girls. Basically, I spent my time making cocoa and hot tea in 4 oz bottles and decorating the table numbers. We found dresses, shoes, jewelry, and hairstyles and finally the real day was here. The girls , D, and I left our house around 3pm  to head off towards the Frisco Convention Center. Luckily, we were able to get right in to drop them off and, as dumb beginners luck would have it, we unknowingly parked right outside a side door that they were able to come out of and it allowed us to miss the horrible congestion in the front of the hotel. I will say waiting the last 40 minutes of prom in that spot was REALLY hard. We were so tired and time seemed to be moving extremely slow, but we were grateful that once it ended and they came out we were able to skip the congestion out front. The prom itself

The Bunch are Ready for Prom and Graduation!

L is being silly! Tomorrow is finally prom! The girls are so excited! It should be so much fun for them. There is going to be about 836 students attend on Saturday with them and about the same number going on Friday night. It is a VERY popular event in the homeschooling world because it is known for being over the top and phenomenal. The decorations will include the White Witches eternal winter, Aslan's Golden Age,  and actors who look like Lucy, Edmond, Peter, and Susan. A string quartet will play the Narnia score during dinner and there is a super fun game planned to try and find the missing something or other. I forgot what it was, but they have to be brushed up on their Narnia info in order to be able to find it. Since our oldest child lives near by D and I are going to go visit him while they are attending prom. I can't remember the last time I was out until 2 am, but it has been quite awhile. As D always tells his fellow police officers when they want him to work overni

The Bunch Are Busy Again!

Game Day was quite cold this week. T's team is in 2nd place so far. Our lives, like virtually everyone else's, came to a screeching halt last year (Thanks Again Covid), but lately our life is slowly becoming what it was. D normally has several days in both the spring and summer that he has to go in for training. For those people who are saying "Police need more training", they obviously have no idea how many REQUIRED hours EVERY year that police officers attend training. While last year  provided a nice escape from training season (Thanks Again Covid), this year's training season is back with a vengeance. Probably to make up for last year, which basically means my husband has to work on one of his days off for the foreseeable future.  The youngest two kids are both participating in sports again and our calendar is once again looking very colorful. T's garden is starting to sprout. He planted only okra and corn this year and plans to sell his excess at the Farm

The Bunch Get Ready For a Happy Easter!

The Bunch Well, we have had a pretty good week. The weather has been beautiful, albeit very dry. T was was able to plant his garden and D and I managed to catch up on some outdoor chores we have been needing to do. I know it won't be long before we will have to get everything outside done by 10 am because it will just be too hot after that during the summer months. However, we are making the most of this beautiful stretch of spring weather.  The girls did it! They found their shoes for prom (a shout out to Aunt P for helping them!). We ended up at DSW and the first thing they did was check the clearance rack. I was so proud! A actually ended up getting the first pair she tried on that were from the clearance rack, but that realization came after her and L tried on all the rest of the shoes in the store. Ok, they might not have really tried on every shoe, but they took long enough that they probably could have. T and I ended up leaving to go to Lowe's to get some garden supplies
