The Bunch Watch T Play in 2 Basketball Games and Celebrate More Birthdays

T is obviously 23. The one towering over everyone even the coaches! Wow! What a blur the last week was! T not only had a 2 hour basketball practice, but 2 basketball games an hour away each in opposite directions on two separate days.  I feel like all we did was drive this week. The first game he had was crazy. It was apparently the first game in 5 years that this school had played and I am not sure the refs ever played either. We didn't complain too much though since they were getting completely slaughtered by us anyways, but it was so frustrating. We took it easy on them and never played all our starters together, but it still had more than 20 points difference. T was great. He scored half of the team's points. The second game was in a school that was completely the opposite of the first game. I am pretty sure the first school had been used in a horror movie at some point. It was so creepy! The second school was a very nice private school. They even had a parking lot and ligh...

The Bunch Go To T's First Basketball Tournament and Visit Gigi & Poppop

T's first 3 basketball games this season were at a tournament. It made me feel like we were a part of NASCAR. You know, have the big race first. It was quite the experience. It was held in Duncanville, which is about 80 miles from our house. The fieldhouse that it was held in was crazy. It had 6 fullsize courts plus bleachers for each court. There was so much screaming, loud whistles, and buzzers that it was hard to tell if it was for your game or another one. The first day we arrived around noon so that wasn't too early. However, we ended up having to stay there until almost 9 pm. After, almost 8 hours of loud basketball, the girls and I were ready to never see another basketball again! T played really well. He made 16 points in the first game and the most points in all the games. He won MVP for making the most points and getting the most rebounds. Several of the teams had players as big as if not bigger than T. In fact, if T and the other large boy hadn't been on our te...

The Bunch Celebrate Halloween and T Gets His Braces Off

My body outline was a gingerbread man! We celebrated our Halloween on the 30th this year since Halloween fell on a Sunday and we were crazy busy with Church that day. The kids are too old to trick or treat anymore, but they still enjoy dressing up for a halloween calendar picture. This year we have been watching Brooklyn 99 (most of the episodes are family friendly, but not all so they don't watch every episode). They decided to dress up as detectives Jake, Rosa, and Amy from the show. They also like to have a halloween themed movie day. It is a tradition to watch Hocus Pocus every year and in the days leading up to halloween ,we watch halloween episodes of our favorite shows.  I usually make some of their favorite foods and we just take a day to relax and enjoy our time together. We do spend a lot of time together everyday, but holidays are very relaxed. There are no chores, school, or extra responsibilities. We just live in the moment and enjoy it. I often wonder if when t...

The Bunch Are Busy

C & H got there engagement pictures back. They turned out really good. First off, it has been nice to have the cooler weather, but I could really do without the 40 mph winds! Everything is pretty much being beat to death by the winds and getting hay is really NOT fun. The new chicken has adapted to living in the coop with the other hens surprisingly well. No one really picks on her and she seems happy. She adjusted to the coop so much better than the last chicken we introduced (the highway chicken). It seems like it was just too easy. L tried out for her solo last week and should find out this week if she got it. It is for the Christmas concert. She sings with the rest of the student choir this Sunday at both services, but it is just one song and I don't think there is any solos. She really seems to like being a part of the choir. I can't wait to hear her sing! T finally has his new basketball uniform in and is ready to play in next week's tournament, which is all the...

The Bunch Integrate a Chicken, Vote, and Get Ready For Christmas

First off, I can't believe how quickly October is going by. The weather has been so warm it's no wonder why I can't believe it is October! It feels more like mid September. This week we kept our newest chicken in a crate on the deck just in case she was ill. That way she wouldn't infect the rest of the flock. However, she is not only looking extremely healthy, but also laying eggs-which means she is healthy or she wouldn't be laying. This week she gets to move into the coop with the other chickens, but in her crate. This way the chickens will get use to her being there, but won't be able to gang up on her and peck the intruder to death. And yes, chickens can do that. They don't like members that aren't in their flock.  Don't get me wrong she'll still get pecked a lot even after the slow introduction, but they most likely will just give her a couple of pecks so she knows her rank and then leave her alone.  Fang is doing well! Fang's coop insi...
