The Bunch Celebrate T

Though T had his friend party last weekend, his actual birthday was this week. We didn't do a whole lot since we had already had celebrated, but we did open presents and rent the new Jurassic Park (which I actually really liked). Since T is in his body building era we decided when I made my cake, a scrumptious three layer chocolate zucchini cake, that we would portion the leftovers into 8 slices and have four on T's birthday and the other  four on A's. We all absolutely LOVE the chocolate cake and this way we could cut down on sugar and treats. We will make the cakes they want a little later and space it out more. T wanted a pineapple upside down cake and A wanted a Boston creme poke cake so we will probably make those in October and November respectively. The chocolate cake froze great in slices and worked perfectly for T to blow out all his candles. He actually wanted 17 candles and not a number 1 and 7.  He blew them all out in one blow, but it takes a minute to light them so there was some wax drippings on the cake.

Maisy is still with us... physically anyways. Mentally she isn't really aware of much.

He's really excited about firefighter school next year.

All 17 candles....he plans to have "actual" candles every year, that should be fun in 20 years.

We like to make signs on the white boards. This was D's. We all thought it was something different this year and I am not sure any of us were a 100% right.😂

I went for a much simpler design. They all understood mine.😂

I put several banners up around the house to be festive.

T and I went to try out the floating chair he got me for my birthday. He was a sweetheart and carried all the luggage.

I love, love, loved my floating chair. It was like being in a recliner in the water. I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing!

The wine tasting A got me was very enjoyable. D and I had a great time.

Basically a family runs the winery out of the grandparents original home. This house was crazy big.

See. Crazy big.

They look so cute while I work out. Axl can totally walk over the gate, but he usually lets me contain him while I work out.....if he feels like it. 🤣

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. My birthday is first and the kids do so many nice things for me all the time, but they put forth an extra effort on my birthday. This year A even woke up early to turn the cof...

The Bunch Are Ready For Fall To Come Back

A and I at our favorite venue. We LOVE Bass Hall. I must admit that we are pretty tired of the crazy hot weather. We are ready to go back to the temps we had at the beginning of September. We played pickleball again this week, but D had required overtime to work so just T, A, and I went. We played singles and winner played the next person or A and I played together against T.  We ended up in full sun and the humidity was a killer. We are happy that the cold front is coming through this week and the mornings should be in the 60s or low 70s with low humidity. It should be super nice to play in. T won every game we played, but A and I together definitely made him work harder! We still had a lot fun. We decided against our usual post game Braums. We all were hot and really just wanted to get home to the a/c.  A won the lottery for tickets at Bass Hall to see the Life of Pi. We were up in the upper gallery, but that might have been beneficial for this show. The animal puppet...

The Bunch Have A Fun Week!

D had his awards banquet at a BBQ place we had been wanting to try for awhile. The food was really delicious and not greasy at all.  We have had a lot of expenses thrown at us lately. We bought our new appliances , which were well planned for. However, after that we had 2 cars to get repaired, one of which   was decided that it was too expensive and would make more sense to get a newer, stronger, younger one, I have to get some polyps removed, we owe uncle Sam money for the first time ever (thanks to the rule about the year a child turns 17 you lose the child tax credit even if the majority of the year they are 16), and lots of other little things. You know how it goes...when it rains it pours. Since we were unable to take the rv out because of the tow vehicle being unable to tow with a heavy load, more like us not wanting to risk trying, and since A had a day off work, we decided to go on an adventure to do something that none of us ever had done before. We started with...
