The Bunch Go to the Homeschool Fair

Irving holds a wonderful home school fair that we like to attend. It is always a lot of fun and we meet  home school friendly vendors, which basically means we get a ton of coupons to go and visit places during the slow period of businesses. I love it. This year A entered the cultural display, baking, art, and photography divisions. L entered the baking, photography, and art division. A studied Italy for her display. We spent a couple of weeks studying the culture and history of Italy. We read about 10 books on Italy and I know more about Italy than I ever thought I would! A decided to make peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's kiss for her baking entry and draw a "fashion design" for her art entry. Of all the great photos that she took, the one she decided to enter was of our dirty dog sitting in her pen. I couldn't change her mind on that one. L was going to make turtle brownies for her baking entry, but they turned into brownies with fudge icing because the carmamel we bought was rancid and she didn't want nuts in them.  Her art entry was a really cute flag she used water colors for and her photo she picked to enter was of a waterfall at the Dallas zoo. It looked pretty cool, she may be a future photographer. A received first place for her cookies and display. She received 2nd place for her photo and drawing. L placed 1st in everything for her division. She was beyond excited. We had a great time and I was very proud of them.

The Bunch Start Birthday Week

  Yes, my Mom had my name misspelled on the cake.😂 It was still yummy so it was all good. T, A, and I all have our birthdays within a week and a half. Which means there is a crazy amount of sugar within those 10 days. We always like to make whoever's birthday it is feel special for the day. We watch what they want,do activities they like, eat what they pick, do their chores for them, etc. It not usually too expensive, but just a fun day where it's focused on them. The kids use to use their days to rule like little kings and queens, but have become a lot calmer in their "old" age since they get to do whatever they want most of the time anyways. We are a pretty close family and do a lot of things together all the time anyways, but on birthdays we still make sure we defer to the birthday boy/girl. The Bunch Visit Family

  We had fun playing some board games...and it wasn't even a fun jar idea! We just did it because it sounded like fun! The fun jar has been a little slow being implemented this year. T made sure to let me know! We're making up for it next week by drawing several things.  We have had a wonderfully busy week visiting family and getting things done around the house. We went over to my parents house to celebrate Father's Day and while the boys played games with Grandpa, the girls went with Grandma to show her what all the fuss about Trader Joe's is about. She enjoyed looking at all the different things and even found a few gems of her own. It was a nice day and fun to get out together for a little bit. We had a great day!🥰 We picked up Whataburger for my Dad as a treat and my mom made some tots and a side salad up to go with it.💗 We also had a nice long visit with our Aunt P. The Bunch Have A Fantastic Week!

  Pickleball is always fun! Now that the weather has been nicer, albeit super windy, we have been trying to do our weekly pickleball match. Basically, this week whoever was playing with the wind won! We still have fun playing even when it is windy. In fact, playing in the wind probably makes us have more fun. The wind gusts sometimes pick the ball up and make it do some funny things, like getting the ball and pushing it back onto your side so you lose a point or blowing it three courts over! Luckily, we are usually the only ones there so it doesn't matter if we play across 4 courts. Afterwards, we usually go get some ice cream/ frozen yogurt and just enjoy our outing.  T went camping this weekend with his troop. They worked on orienteering, which I was super happy about since T needs to work on that something fierce, but unfortunately the boys in troop aren't much better than him at orienteering and the first guy oriented them upside down on the first one so they basically was...
