Spring Break?

The weather this week has been nice. It has been wet, but the temperature is mild. Most schools are out this week for spring break. We cannot enjoy our normal outings because there are so many kids every where. The bunch is not getting this week off. Their spring break will come later, or maybe not all. I haven't really decided since we only have 7 weeks of school left. I might just let them end school a week early instead. However, this week was most definitely NOT an option. We have a Homeschool Fair coming up that the girls each have 4 projects that they are entering, so we are putting the finishing touches on those. We also are finishing up our Girl Scout Booth sales and  I have taken on the role of A's troop leader while the other leader is out tending to her dying father. I was the only other registered adult girl scout in the troop and how can you say no under the given circumstances. I also am planning 2 get togethers and have a daughter's birthday coming up.

You get the idea.  I have way too much I am trying to get done in a short period of time. Anyways, I am getting off track. As it turns out the weather, while mild, has made it too wet and muddy for my normally active group to go outside. I have worked very hard conditioning them to do 4 mile bike rides so I can jog, but the weather has kept us in for the last week and kept me having to ride the stationary bike.  So basically, ALL THEIR PENT UP ENERGY is literally bouncing off the walls. While they were bouncing, I realized how much I hate our ceiling. The textured ceiling screams late 80's. Since we have nothing but available time, I decided that  D and I could fix the problem by removing ALL the texture from our ceiling and repainting it. That, of course, made us realize that the walls needed repainting also and that the trim had to go. So now we have started what is rapidly becoming a major home improvement project while I am trying to help A do her math problems, put together her info on Italy for her poster, get the ingredients for the cookies for the fair, and give a phonics test, all the while covered from head to toe in dirty old plaster. For those of you who have never found the joy of redoing your ceiling, let me tell you it is MESSY! For a little while my living looked like the footage from 9/11 with the ash every where. In order to keep the rest of the house clean we sealed off the work area. After a while, I needed fresh air and went outside. I kid you not, I WAS SO DIRTY I LEFT FOOTPRINTS ON THE PATIO THAT WILL NOT COME OFF. I was shocked at the places I accumulated plaster. It was not paint just plaster dust. I wonder what will come up next.

My little trail of plaster footprints

So happy I was halfway done.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
