Yeah!! School Is Out For Summer!

Our first week sans school was AWESOME! I love homeschooling, but it is VERY time consuming. The actual time the girls spend on their work each day is minimal when compared to those in a traditional setting, but lesson planning and paper/test grading are extremely time consuming and I am so happy to get a break for awhile.  Since everyone is still SLOWLY getting better from being sick, we stayed close to the house this week. We travel a lot so this felt a little like a punishment, but we did get some things done/started that we had wanted.
For instance, I have been griping about wanting a bigger driveway since we bought the house (side note: only 11 years left on mortgage. yeah!) so what better time for a lot of hard exhausting manual labor than while I have 3 kids who are perfectly content to rest and watch a movie. I have to be honest though, the project is way harder than I anticipated. In fact, 3 hours of D and I both working and we have only completed 50 sq ft of the 400 sq ft we are expanding. I can't wait until we finish. Not only will it be nice to park all our cars in back (at least until we buy the camper), but then we won't have to break our backs leveling and putting in the stones (17.5 lbs each and we need just over 400).
I have decided next week we will start our trips back up. I have always loved to go to new places and explore new things. The kids and D share this with me. Next week alone, we have 4 day trips planned and a 10 day vacation planned coming up before to long, though D says if the kids come it is technically a family trip because a vacation implies we could sleep when we want to.  :) I hope everyone else plans to have a summer as fun as ours! Well, I am off to work on the driveway.......or maybe take a nap. :)

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
