What is going on with the world?

As we sit here and prepare to start the next school year, I am starting to wonder if the world is actually any worse than it has always been. We definitely hear about more, thanks to social media sites and complete access to anything at our finger tips, but is it actually worse?  In recent memory, we have had the infamous 9/11, Oklahoma bombing, Columbine, and of course now the Colorado shooting in Aurora, along with daily accounts of smaller instances. Since I was not around 50 to 100 years ago, my only ability to understand the past can come from history books and newspapers. I also have to take in to account the population increase and realize that while the overall numbers of violent crimes maybe higher that the percentages  when compared to the population increase are about the same. I would venture to say that the world is no worse in violent crimes than it has been, but that as an overall population that we have GREATLY diverged from the reasons this country was founded.
This nation was founded on religious freedom and yet somehow the masses have bent to the few. We cannot say God in our Pledge of Allegiance now and some want it taken off our money as well. We have people who still want to legalize gay marriage and are upset that a majority of people have voted and DO NOT want to allow these kinds of unions.  I applaud Chick-Fil-A on their unwillingness to compromise their Christan values. There was a time every business closed on Sundays and families went to church and enjoyed time together with both their family and their friends. I am a Christan and I did not write the Bible, but I also do not try to make my sins fit into it. if the Bible says it is wrong then guess what? It's wrong and no matter how you try to disguise it, it will ALWAYS be wrong.
My conservative Christan values`always surprise me. I was definitely not raised with any religious influence. It was a real shame. I would have stayed out of trouble a lot more if I would have been given the opportunity to more constructively use my time. I was lost, but now I am found. God has blessed me in so many ways that I do not deserve. One of his greatest blessings he bestowed upon me is my inability to recall most of my life before I found him. It's as if once I confessed myself to him and my slate was wiped clean that He knew I would always remember my past indiscretions and He refused to let me beat myself up over my past and blessed me with an inability to recall all but a few things.from my "before" life.
It is hard for some people to realize that they are no better that the shooter in Colorado. A sin is a sin in God's eyes. There is no one worse sin. If I take His name in vain, He is just as upset as if I were to kill 12 people. If I think something impure, it is just as bad as actually doing it. For we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..Romans 3:23.
My hope is to give my kids a better chance to know God at an earlier age and provide a safe outlet for them to enjoy time with their friends. I home school them for this reason too. As their parent I should have a say about what my children learn and the public school system has failed in what is taught. In trying to keep church and state separate, they have rewritten history and taught our children incorrectly.
I would suggest we all support our local Chick-Fil-A and congratulate them on their ethics.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
