What Happened to the Bunch?

Aren't my boys cute?

I know it has been almost a month since the last post, but to be fair I had some some oral surgery done that has had some complications in recovery and I am preparing for my first 5K race coming up next week. I know that a 5K really isn't super far (3.1 miles). However, since I have been dealing with the surgery recovery and had to take off several days, I am really working on getting back to a respectable time.

I really do not understand why they like this cartoon?

Love the Flintstones!

Is he ever going to slow down on growing?

We love the pumkin patch!

Before I was laid up for a week, we took off from school and had a fun week. We went to the Pumpkin Patch. It is always a great place to enjoy some of the festivites of Halloween. I know several of my friends do not celebrate Halloween, but we do. I do not think of it as a religious celebration, obviously (unless you want to get into the All Saints argument), but merely as an American custom that doesn't celebrate anything, but kids enjoying fellowship with their friends. I think as long as you are not treating it as a celebration of the WICCA "religion", it is fine to participate. The kids even want to go trick or treating this year instead of going to the church's Fall Festival. They are even excited to pass out candy. It really gives us a chance to speak with the neighbors that we normally are not able to visit with. I think a lot of people miss the witnessing opportunities that Halloween can have.

Biggest kid, smallest elephant..makes sense.

I like kangaroos!

We made another visit to our new favorite zoo, the Dallas Zoo.  It is very large and has wonderful exhibits We finally saw the new Austrailian exhibit.  It was neat, but I am not really sure why the have a blue jay on display. A green jay is more rare here so I get that, but I can open my front door and see 5 blue jays at the feeder at any given time. The Kuckaburrow was really cute and we liked being able to get up close to it.

The very next day we went to the Ft Worth zoo. They have added a new mystery show that they put on with the animals. It was the highlight of our trip. The kids really got into it. The kids were getting a little tired from all the walking two days in a row. By the way, a wagon CAN fit in the trunk of my elantra. I wish I would have known that a decade ago!

Perfectly straight lines.

A kangaroo?

A frog jump maybe?

If only I could stick him in the pouch to keep still!

Probably the absolute most fun thing we did that week was go to a play at the ACT in Lewisville for the Wizard of OZ. For a play put on solely by kids, that all get a part if they want one, the props, costume designs, and the set was amazing, even my 4 year old was still and completely mezmerized for the entire 2 hours. We didn't leave until after 10pm! We go to a lot of their plays and all of them are really good, but this one in particular was completely amazing. If you have an opportunity to see one, I highly suggest you go!

In the near future, we are going to be camping again!

Almost too big to fit together anymore.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June ...

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though...

The Bunch Celebrate T's 16th Birthday

Three Birthdays in 10 days I cannot believe the baby of the family is 16! Actually, I can't believe they are all as old as they are. C will be 31 this year, A turns 21 tomorrow, L is 18, and little baby T is 16! It has been a wonderful ride and I was very blessed to be able to spend 24/7 with my kids while they were little. I have wonderful memories of all the times we shared. While the last year has been the hardest of our lives, it's been nice to see us all rally together and we have become even more appreciative of each other. T will just randomly stop to hug us and tell us he loves us.🥰 A is so very helpful and thoughtful and C is great about calling and keeping us updated on how they're doing way out in Bonham. I love my kids! We have decided to give pickleball a try as a family. Considering we've never even watched a game, our first lesson should be interesting!  He has gotten so good at guitar! My parents celebrate our birthdays every year by treating us to di...
