The Bunch Start Back to School and Enjoy the Aboretum

My beautiful family sans our eldest son and myself
As normal, when the temp starts topping 100 almost daily, we start back to school. I figure if the kids are stuck inside every afternoon (which is really anytime after 10:30am) then they might as well be learning something and not just be comatose in front of the TV. We have been doing school for the past two weeks and so far it has been fairly painless to get back in the routine of things, though we are taking off this week to get ready for their birthday parties next weekend.

We finally had our unusual cool front come through. It was too late for us to go to Six Flags so we headed to the Dallas Arboretum for the day. The high was only 73 and it felt so great....almost cold in the water. This was our first time to visit the children's gardens. It was really neat. We spent pretty much the whole day in the childrens garden and only did about 2/3 of the activities. My kids are older, but there were a ton of activities for younger kids. We saw a lot of toddlers and preschoolers. Most of the interactive computers are geared for older kids, but there was a lot of play areas for the younger ones. If we go when it is hot out, I know the kids will play in the water features so I will have to remember to bring a change of clothes. It was great to enjoy the cool weather for one day in such a beautiful place.....although the temp is already back to normal two days later. I can't wait until October!

Not real sure what they were going for here.

A is not in the pics since she is at that age where we have to pretty much catch her off guard to get her pic!

Although the pics do not really show it, there really was a lot of flowers at the gardens.

T on the cloud jump....which is netting stretched across the tree tops.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
