The Bunch Get Ready For Spring

My 22 yr old cat sleeping....old age makes you weird.

Lately, we have kept busy by taking advantage of the great weather to get some things done around the house. We are thinking about selling next year in order to move out to the country so we are tackling a list of honey do's that has accumulated over the last decade and a half. You never realize what you collect over the years until you think about whether it is really worth packing up and unpacking again.
My hubby worked very hard the past 4 days making me a new dining table. It turned out great and he his turning into quite the wood worker. He has thought about doing this after his retirement in 12 years, but I plan on traveling with him for at least 3 years after he retires so that will have to wait! There is something to say about making something by hand. It feels good to be able to do it yourself. He will get a break from manual labor next weekend while we celebrate our youngest daughter's birthday then hopefully he will be able to finish the fence.
T was super sick last week and the poor thing literally could not keep anything down for two days. I felt so bad for him. Luckily, no one else caught it and he felt well enough on the 5th day to be able to take the camper to my in laws for the weekend.

L has been getting ready for her party and is super excited to be turning double digits this year. Being the baby crazy girl she is, she has decided to throw a baby themed party. We are probably the only parents to essentially throw their 10 year old daughter a baby shower. She wants to go swimming at the gym again, which will work out well since it is indoors and we are expecting several storms over the next few days.

A has been busy getting ready for her first 5k that is in a couple of weeks. She ran non stop on her first trial run last week and finished in 34:45, which I was pretty proud of. I fully plan on her never running 3 miles again though. She is always in a horrible mood for an hour afterwards and repeatedly reminds me of how much she hates running, when she is not reminding me of how she is pretty sure she is dying!

Codey has been pretty busy lately and we haven't had the opportunity to visit with him much. He still is working at the local car dealership in sales and really likes it. He has been dealing with some back issues lately and is seeing a chiropractor. He has been renting a house in Carrollton for the past year and seems to be doing well.  We are going to medieval times together next week and I look forward to seeing him. He visits often, but I always want more time with him. I am sure I will feel that way when all my kids finally leave the nest. It will be so different when just D and I are here.
Our scout family camp out is in two weeks and we can't wait. It is always so fun to go camping with everyone! I just hope that the typical spring storms stay away that weekend. We will just watch movies in our trailer, but a lot of people tent camp and have very young kids so the rain would be ho
The pic doesn't do the table justice.!
rrible!
I couldn't resist this photo op for T.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
