D was able to fix the pop up enough to, hopefully, be able to use it for a few more years. Some of the wood is starting to show signs of age/rot, but hopefully after our weekend of updates we have stopped further progression or at least greatly slowed it. We do have our Scout Family camping trip coming up and what better timing could it be than to get a double ear infection. Yep, 18 squealing girls, a fever, and ear pain that feels like someone stabbing my ear drum with a knife, what could be better? I have ALWAYS been prone to ear infections, which is why now I have no idea I have one until it is just a "horrible, horrible infection" (doctors words not mine). The nerves have been damaged from all the infections so until it reaches a horrible throbbing raging infection, I have no idea. Normal kids (don't see a lot of adults in the waiting room) know way before I do that they are in pain. My first clue I have one is fever sets in. Since moving to the country, they have become more prevalent and most likely tubes will be on the way soon. I have already had them twice so really what's once more. However, since I try to see the positive in it, I have been enjoying You Tube.
When we were looking at buying an rv I found a couple that traveled around and blogged about their Full Time rving experience, while I currently feel like death, I decided to see what they were up to. Low and behold, after 6 years of full timing it, they decided to sail around the world in a sailboat, with no knowledge of sailing and with their two cats. If you have never seen/heard of Gone with the Wynns look them up. They are living a traveler's dream. I never thought I would want sail, but after watching all their fantastic adventures I might change my mind. D just shakes his head, but he knows if I really want to, it will happen. If I can fix that inner ear issue, it might just happen....though probably just for a few months. I mean who wants to be on water ALL the time and the kids would need to be gone because there would be no escaping their whining in close quarters surrounded by the ocean!
I also enjoyed watching another travel blog called Keep Your Daydream. They are traveling with their 3 kids. I wanted it noted that none of these people are in a pop up. I feel like we should get extra credit for rving for a month in the pop up. Now granted we pretty much only roughed it at the KOA, but still 5 people and a medium sized super crazy dog, it was a challenge. Thank God for free wifi and now we have a tv/dvd player in the camper so we will really be set for whenever we dare to do a month on the east coast.
Sorry no pics this time. Apparently when I am sick I quit taking pictures. Nothing interesting has been happening anyways! I guess I could take a picture of me lying miserably under my blanket watching You Tube, but that's about as interesting as it has been this week.
