The Bunch Are Still Melting!

Chillin at the movies, yes T brought his blanket and neck pillow

Apparently since saying that we are melting in my last post, but not setting any records, God has decided to show me his wonderful since of humor. This last week we shattered our high temperature record since records starting being kept. IT WAS EXCURCIATINGLY HOT! We had 10 days over 100 and 5 of those were over 105 without the heat index.  I felt so bad for our poor chickens. We brought them ice several times a day, turned on their misters, and feed them cold fruit, but they were still pretty miserable since even in the shade it was still 110! I had no problems getting my steps in with all the tromping back and forth to their various pens. Of course, I had to watch EVERY one of those steps so I didn't fall in one of the hundreds of 30 inch plus cracks, even where I water is getting big crack s and I water all day EVERY day. Yep, no water conservation in the country.
Poor Roosters were so hot they started sleeping on top of their coop.

My husband to the rescue by installing a roosting bar to help them be more comfortable on top of their coop

Look Closely, Said roosters are standing in front of the new bar installed for their comfort.

He doesn't realize the dog just doesn't care about him.

We also had to keep pushing on with the camper so we might actually finish before our fall trip. Basically, we would get up and start working about 6:30am while it was still cool (if 82 is cool) and stop around 12:00pm when it was about 100 or so. We would spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the a/c and, of course, going back and forth to tend to the chickens. Some of us (uh hmm D) enjoyed long naps in uncomfortable positions, reading, playing games (kids LOVE Skip Bo) and we even went to the movies and watched Hotel Transylvania 3. The movie was cute, but we all like the first one best.  If you really want to test your marriage, take on a complicated intense project with no instructions and then take that up a notch by doing it in scorching weather. Needless to say, it is a testament to our patience that we are both still breathing and not maimed. Ok, one of us is maimed, but that is because one of us isn't extra careful NOT to get splinters or drill through their thumb. I am losing count of how many times my darling husband has made himself bleed profusely and have to be careful not to respond with "hey, watch the paint." My darling husband, in fact, just today asked me what we will do every weekend when the camper is done. My answer 1.) that is never going to happen, which is what it feels like and 2.) NOTHING. Okay, my real answer was move on to the next project, but we would take a couple of weeks off. We all know I am OCD and ADD so doing nothing is just a short term thing, but boy would I love to go chill at the lake for a couple of days. TOO bad my disassembled camper is holding me hostage at my house.

These cracks are everywhere.

Not kidding cracks are over 2 feet deep.

IN other news my little car has most likely finally having to be retired. I just wish we wouldn't have had that new clutch put in 3 weeks ago. 2 different mechanics can't figure out what is wrong. 2 of our 3 cars are 17 years or older. My little car is a 2000 Hyundai Elantra bought new with 8 miles. The navigator is 17 years old and barely has 100000 miles (we bought it at 5 years old with 60000). What can I say we didn't go far when we lived in the city, though apparently I only drove 5000 last year so I guess I still don't drive a lot even though it seems like I do. The little car was D's commuter car since the gas mileage was fantastic. I am not sure if we will get another car or just drive the SUV's for a bit.

The kids start school in a week. This summer has gone by faster than I thought. Life just keeps going by faster and faster it seems. I will blink and 40 years will have passed. I just try to love each moment and enjoy our time together (baby, I don't think the pop up time together counts towards this).

Cute diner hubby and I had brunch at.

Old West murals on every wall

We shared a yummy breakfast.

We were celebrating not killing each other during the camper renovation....so far,

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
