The Bunch Eagerly Await Rain

Hopefully the rain makes it all the way here!

Apparently an early summer means an early fall, which I am all for. We have had a little rain, which is a blessing, and currently have dark clouds heading our way. It is expected to have temps in the low 90's and upper 80's this week AND a chance for rain everyday, which is virtually unheard of in Texas in the summer. Maybe one day I can not worry about breaking a leg in my backyard because I fell in one of the cracks. I did manage to severely jam or break my little toe and it has turned a lovely painful purple color. This means I have had to sit with my feet elevated more and we all know how much I love to sit still!
I forgot to close the coop windows BEFORE it rained.

Me watching everyone else walk the dog because of my toe. I tried to go, but it was too painful.

My view from the bench of everyone enjoying the dog walk.

We actually put the skins of the camper back on this week! It is happening....we finally stopped taking things off and are actually putting it back together. Now, we still have a couple more things to take off, but they are not quite as big of undertaking as the sides were. I am optimistic we might be completely done next month....though my husband and I have doubts as to whether or not it will actually end. It has taken FOREVER and included lots of sweat, blood (literally) and tears and I will be glad to NOT do it anymore.
It is no longer in my garage and has been repainted a winter grey. I can't wait to see the whole thing repainted.

It is back to school time this week and overall it has gone smoother than I anticipated.  It is always a little sad to say goodbye to the somewhat relaxed days of summer, but this summer was really hot and we didn't travel so I am ready for fall and our 2nd annual Branson trip. The girls and I have started the BIG east trip planning. D isn't so sure we can go 5 weeks without wanting to come back and would like to shorten it to 3 weeks, but even at 5 weeks we are missing a lot and 3 weeks would mean a lot longer driving days. We will see how it works out. As long as we can find someone to take care of the chickens and check on the house I think we could do longer because the temps will be a lot cooler than on the west coast trip.

The library did a mini golf day and it was really fun!

My red golf ball is stuck between the cup and book stand. I almost won that hole!

Time of year to make jellies. My father in law brought me several lbs  of wild grapes.

So yummy! Though mine never really set since I only use half the sugar, but great sauce.

Kids enjoy cooler temps this week. I hope the cooler temps will stay, but know they won't.

We have to remember the NON camper renovation moments. You know when we don't want to scream at each other.

My nephew's Bday. No one but the dog is paying me any attention.

The little man is now 11! Time really flies.

My girls trying to recreate the iconic Iwo Jima picture using the little men from their cupcakes, which were interestingly flavored like root beer.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
