The Bunch Finish Birthday Week

We did it. We made it through birthday week. Unfortunately, a stomach bug hit hard this week. A and T were both completely miserable with T being by far the worst in actual sickness. A was the worse by far with the moaning, complaining, and just general whining. You would have thought she was about 6 if you just went by behavior. Granted she doesn't get ill often, but boy is she exhausting. Fortunately, all is well now. L and I were only mildly ill and D somehow missed it entirely. I have banned all throw up stories because for some weird reason the kids like to regale us with their tales of sickness over and over, usually during a meal.

My girls played an intense volleyball game on A's actual birthday, which was too much for her and caused a relapse that night. Of course, the youth volleyball league changed the rules again. I mean why would they keep the same rules each year then everyone would know what is going on. They raised the points needed on the first two sets, which basically means the games will always run out of time now. The third set usually decides the winner and is always close; so stopping it midway and just declaring a winner by who is leading at the time is unfair. A couple points in volleyball is nothing. You could take the lead on your very next serve. I think a lot of parents will start complaining. They already have refs who mix up the score CONSTANTLY (you have to keep track yourself and correct them). This is one more thing they will inevitably have to deal with.

We lost our biggest rooster to an animal attack this week. We aren't sure what got him, but got him it did. Unfortunately, L found the remains of his face in some grass and was horribly upset. We moved the other roo in with the girls, but the kids are scared of him and he was terrorizing the hens so this weekend he has to move back to the pasture. I feel bad for him since he will be all alone and chickens are social animals, but not sorry enough to let him run off my kids and bully my egg layers.
R.I.P.     Peeps

Painless with the hens

As we know, I can't do selfies so I practiced taking a couple. Just remember that all these were taken in about 10 seconds of each other.

Not too bad

Could live with this, maybe I can do a couple of selfies

Totally nailed it!
This why I don't do selfies! I am not even sure what happened here other than I was possessed by an evil spirit.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
