The Bunch Get Their Tree.......FINALLY

Almost two weeks after being shipped and definitely longer than the being fresh cut to door in  six days promise, our tree finally found its way to our doorstep. I was so excited I actually screamed and apparently gave my daughter "a heart attack". I was both happy it was finally here and disappointed I was probably going to have to return a dead tree. Once we opened it, it was obvious it needed water, but it had surprisingly little needles that had fallen off and it was still completely green. Most importantly IT SMELLED LIKE CHRISTMAS. If you have never had a real tree you won't know what that means, and no the candles and sprays are NOT the same. It has that wonderful fresh fir scent and I was so excited to not have to get a Texas pine tree; pine trees are notorious for having horrible needle retention and I can vouch for that assessment. After we took the tree out of the box and opened it up, we had to give it a couple of days to recover and hydrate before we could decorate. This tree goes through about 64 ounces of water a day, but it looks great and I am so happy we didn't have to return it! The picture definitely doesn't do it justice.
I was so excited when it arrived.

D was entrusted to remove it from the box.

And cut off the tip of the trunk to aid in better water absorption.

We left it alone for a few days to open before we could decorate.

Look at those beautifully green full branches.

Picture just doesn't look as good as the real thing.
T started his basketball season this week. Unfortunately, due to some issues with the online registration he received a youth small instead of an adult small jersey. So naturally after laughing hysterically, I helped him squeeze into it so I could take a pic. I have already ordered the correct size since he thinks he might have to breathe during the games, but it was pretty funny the biggest kid on the team had the smallest jersey.
Fat guy in a little coat.

He literally couldn't get it on or off without help. I was kind of impressed he was able to squeeze into it.

While T is at practice we walk about a mile to play at the park, which has a zipline.

And some cool balancing things.

Not to mention things to climb on, not a typical park I grew up with.

Cookie's shenanigans continue.

I found something to do with that tiny shirt after all.

Sadly, it is almost too small for her also!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.šŸ˜‚ It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
