The Celebrate Valentine's Day

We gave the girls roses for Valentine's Day and T got chocolates. We also took them to the zoo and out to lunch.

We love to have fun on holidays! Now President's Day will probably go by without a fuss, but Valentines Day we do enjoy. My husband and I don't really give gifts to each other for holidays other than birthdays and Christmas. We do little things for each other at random times through out the year and believe that the randomness of it, makes it more special than some arbitrary date on the calendar each year, though occasional we do go out for our anniversary, but since it is so close to Christmas that is usually rare also.  Valentine's Day is more for the kids. They make each other and us wonderful little cards and sometimes include a little something from the dollar store. They get really excited about being able to do something nice for their family. I do not give them any money. They have to spend their allowance if they want to purchase something. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. It's up to them. We take the day off and either play games and have a party if it's cold or in this case since it was nice outside, we went to the little zoo in Gainesville, which is about 30 minutes away. We had so much fun and it was about 75 and after such a long stretch of super cold weather, all the animals were out and actively enjoying the warmth. We couldn't have picked a better day to go, especially since highs are back into the 40's again.
L surprised us with decorations and biscotti she had made. Yummy!

She also made Valentine themed games for us to play. She worked hard!

Heart shaped pancakes are harder to make than you think.
The Frank Buck Zoo

It was such a nice day.

I think the statue is the nose of a wolf, not sure.

So Big!

The prairie dogs were like big hamsters.

Looking at the alligator.

We fed the goats for awhile....while I repeatedly said we were NOT getting any!

The lemurs

A playing giraffe.

A is way taller than the sign.

What do we do while waiting at the eye doctor?

Apparently play toddler games and read the Bible.

10 minutes later.

15 minutes later, we move to having the youngest read books to the oldest.

Finally back home and enjoying L's hard work.

We still have not been able to take the new trailer out. It has still been below freezing at night so we can't de-winterize it yet. Hopefully in the next two weeks, it will be warm enough to take it out. However, volleyball starts soon so we might not have time. Oh, such is the busy life with kids. We still plan on a two week trip sometime in May, so hopefully everything works well. We also have a scouting trip in April for a weekend so that will also help us assess any issues before we are gone too long.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
