You can already tell by the title that we did not have a good week. Well, I take that back. We had a good expensive week. We have always made sure to follow the "you won't get termites if" advice. We did not keep firewood by the house, filled in cracks, and treated every year. Apparently, these termites did not get the proper etiquette guide for termites because they are in an abnormal spot away from moisture and wood. The only reason we noticed them was because a few months back I repainted the ceiling very white. I noticed a few very small brown spots on my pretty ceiling(yes ceiling NOT baseboards) last week and called someone out. Yep, worse case scenario confirmed. At least, we caught them very early and so the structural damage is not quite as severe as it could have been. I know God always has a plan, but does this mean I should go ahead and move? I have been thinking about it a lot lately. Most of our friends are doing missionary work over seas or throughout the US. I would like to work in South Africa. It would be fairly easy since we home school and really try to limit material possessions. I would like to wait 10 years until the house is paid off, but maybe that isn't God's plan.
We are dealing with the 15th emergence of the stomach bug. I do not know why the heat is bothering us so much this summer. This time it was T that got sick in the car on the way to the Tubes, which last time he got sick was on the way home from the lake. I am so afraid to leave the house anymore. I hate cleaning puke out of the car. We have gotten very inventive in our at home play. Today, we were rock stars. We usually swim everyday too, but today we just painted nails, put on tattoos, and became rock stars. Yes, I let T paint his nails, too. I am VERY anti gender stereotyping. If he wants to be a beauty pageant contestant with the girls that is fine, if the girls want to be monster truck drivers that is fine also. I don't like society telling them what is appropriate and what's not based solely on gender. People who say, "oh, that's for boys" really make me mad and I most definitely will let them know, usually with a study reference from a journal showing how stereotyping as a child harms adults.
