The Bunch are Halfway through Birthday Month

Finally her big day is here!

Today was finally L's actual birthday. This means as a family we HAVE to do something today. None of the other four days of celebration is good enough to NOT do something on your "real" birthday. The world will in fact end if a real birthday celebration is not performed. The kids are even serious enough about this unwritten sacred birthday rule that they willingly do school on Saturday to be able to have the "real" birthday off  to celebrate. It really is the same thing we do on most Sundays, but apparently performing these actions on your "real" birthday takes things up a notch. What did we do? We took the kids to get donuts (I hate donuts so this really is only a birthday thing), we went shopping, watched a movie (at home), went out to eat (at a restaurant where we eat  at least once a month) , and had a no bake cheesecake (which we do not usually eat{remember lactose intolerant}). So what is so special? On your "real birthday", the birthday person gets to pick the meals, the stores, the movies, and pretty much anything we do for the day. The kids love the power trip! It is interesting that they usually pick things we do fairly often. I guess it's different when they decide we do it. It was a fun day and we enjoyed her "real" birthday.
I think C is channeling his inner Duck Dynasty.
On the other hand, we finally received C's test results. He has been diagnosed with Crohn's disease. It is good to finally know what might be wrong, but disappointing there is no cure. We are praying that he reacts well to the medications and is able to go into remission. Hopefully, the medication can control it well.  We are not sure of the extent yet and really hope he does not need surgery, which would require him to use a bag once they removed part of the colon.

T     NOT winning the Turtle Award!

Dad made it to the Pinewood Derby too!

T with his cub den.

T has his football playoffs this weekend. He has loved playing a sport and is already deciding what he wants to play when it is his turn again.  He did not earn the turtle award this year in the Cubs Pinewood Derby! He didn't place either, but just not being last really made his day.

A trying on dresses for fun. Isn't this gorgeous?

A is doing well. She went skating with one of her friends last weekend, which is a big step for her. She is very shy and tends to be very introverted so for her to want to plan an outing with someone is really a big deal.
Stupid Quail not only laid eggs in the middle of the drive but also on the same side of the fence as the dog.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
