The Bunch Start the Farm!

Well, it is official. We own farm animals, though to be fair many cities allow these farm animals. They are "in". What did we get? 10 Chickens! They are so cute and fluffy and the kids absolutely adore them. L literally spent about 6 hours in a row just watching them. As of now, they are in a horse trough in my kitchen. In about 3-4 more weeks, they can move outside to the coop. Thankfully, they are less smelly and quieter than I anticipated. My father in law swears he knows a fool proof method for finding hens vs roosters. In theory, he should have picked 10 hens out for us...though I am pretty sure at least 2 are roosters. Time will tell how accurate his method is. He might be getting a kennel of roosters in a couple of weeks!

Finished Coop

The kids helped seal the coop....about 6 hours before it poured.

So cute!

Have no idea what kind they are.

Yep....10 chicks.

This was the first year that we have celebrated  4th of July in an area where we are allowed to set off fireworks. Ironically, we did not buy any fireworks this year, but the kids and I took a bench out front and watched all the neighbors set fireworks off. It was so neat to see them all going off at the same time. It was like a 360 view of fireworks. We also noticed fireflies while we were out. I was so excited. We haven't seen fireflies in years. The kids thought they were really neat.

We spent the night at my in laws to celebrate the 4th on the 3rd. My husband's grandfather brought a 'lady friend'. He was so cute and asked for permission from everyone before he brought her. I was really happy for him. He has been really lonely the last 2 years since his wife died. However, even before that was really hard because for about 3 years prior she suffered from severe dementia and did not remember him or her children. She basically relived her life as a teenager. It was completely heartbreaking and so to see him smile and dress up in his "nice" pants was wonderful. They live in the senior home together and are able to keep each other company.

T participated in L's Fourth of July celebration.

L put on a 4th of July Spectacular...it was really cute!

Papa and his lady friend.

The boys kept getting into trouble for rough housing.

We set up chairs outside to watch fireworks.

Our small arsenal of fireworks.

He  enjoyed the show from the truck bed.

We finally found a meat market! It is this really cute store in a German town about half an hour from us. They make a lot of their own meats, jellies, sauces, breads, and cheeses. We love it.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
