The Bunch Celebrate the First Birthday in Birthday Season

The kick off party to birthday season begins with me. This year was a landmark bday so my husband and kids planned a fun day of surprises. To begin with, my husband made me my favorite breakfast: eggs benedict and a vegan cinnamon roll, picked up from my absolute favorite restaurant. Afterwards, they took me to go get my hair cut, which wasn't really a surprise since my husband had asked if I needed a haircut, but I did wait 3 weeks so they could take me and on the condition my hair would be cut first. We also stopped at Starbuck's and I was able to enjoy a real cup of coffee.  It is weird to live in the country and not be able to get your coffee fix with decent coffee. He had also already told me about this. The kids did great not telling me what was planned....my husband not so much. He was so excited he really wanted to tell me everything beforehand so I could know how well he did planning things out. I am not sure he really understands the concept of a surprise.

How Sweet! My DH had them write bday wishes!

Oh the yummy goodness!

After the haircut, they took me to the spa. I had a wonderful mani/pedi and was thoroughly pampered for about an hour and a half. It was so relaxing I almost fell asleep...at least until she would scrub the bottom of my feet with the pumice stone at which point I would wake up and laugh hysterically. I am extremely ticklish on my feet. The lady working on my feet told me "you make me feel happy". Yep, I really was that bad. In fact, multiple people came over to see what was wrong. Nothing wrong here, just embarrassingly ticklish.

The rest of the day was a complete surprise. First, we went to lunch at the Cracker Barrel. I use to love this restaurant and still would......if everything they made did not have dairy. I ordered what I figured had the least, but any is too much and I paid the price.
Pretty nails and hair

Enjoying lunch

After the lunch episode, we went to this antique shop I had wanted to go to since we moved 10 months ago. It was here I found it, my chair, which I love. T wants to know why I bought an expensive chair no one can sit in, but I love my chair! I am not sure how old it is, but it reminds me of a turn of the century parlor chair. I love the pioneer days so antique shopping was perfect. I almost bought an 1884 edition of Charles Dickens, but decided I loved my chair more plus the book was in pretty bad shape.
My chair.....I LOVE it!

Next, we headed back to the house for gifts. They did a fantastic job picking me out a new church cardigan (it is SO cold there), a new purse, a new billfold, and some bread pans (which I greatly needed). Then came the biggest surprise of the day, what the kids had been so excited about for days, the best part of the whole day since we could enjoy this as a family.......the Escape Room!
Sweet Boy!

L sewed a pioneer outfit herself to go in the pioneer display I have

A totally gets me!

Love my new church jacket

L made sweet signs for all over the house.

Totally Fun! We made it out with 5 minutes left.

L helped make my cake...peanut butter mousse brownie, yummy!

I celebrated my day with those I love most...could only have been better if my eldest was here.

Yes, my husband booked us a private party at an escape room facility. For those of you who do not watch Duck Dynasty (which I don't know who wouldn't ....Duck Dynasty is AWESOME) the escape room is a room you are locked in, in our case we were all also handcuffed together and to a wall, and you have one hour to try and get out. There are clues hidden and they help you get out. Now by clues, I mean slips of paper with shapes, numbers, or directions on them and you have to figure out what they go to and how to use them. It was so much fun, at least until we had about 20 minutes left and my overly competitive husband went into survival mode and pushed us out of the way (literally) so he could get out. I had to remind him that 1.)the pirates really weren't coming back and 2.) we all want to play. We have teased him relentlessly about his behavior since we left. It was so fun and I had the best birthday. Thank you guys, I love you!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
