The Bunch Did What !?!?

So much can happen in such a small amount of time.  I guess the biggest surprise we have is we finally bought a travel trailer. That's right after toiling in the hot summer sun for months while fixing the pop up, we decided after only two trips we wanted to upgrade. I am pretty frugal so it is a big deal for me to loosen the purse strings enough to buy something we don't need, but just want and to go from something that is paid for to something that needs payments. However, I think what pushed us over the edge was our last two trips were weather extremes and having to set up and take down gets that much harder.  The pop up was way easier to set up and take down than tent camping, which we did as a family for years, but I guess you just get to a point where as you get older it gets harder to bear the heat and frigid air to do stuff. We didn't even want a slide in our new trailer. We can park anywhere and have immediate access to the entire trailer. Being able to stop at a rest stop, make a meal, and comfortably eat at a table will be great.  D use to use a portable grill/stove to make us a quick meal at a rest stop and most of the time we ate in the car because it was too cold/hot to eat at a picnic table. After a lot of back and forth we settled on a 2019 Kingsport.  It is about twice as long as our pop up and I was really nervous about towing it. However, it actually towed better than our pop up did, probably because of the fancy weight distribution hitch we bought. We aren't taking it on a trip for awhile so we will see how our first trip goes after we tow it farther than 25 minutes.
Already trying to get the dog use to the new home away from home.

We have a real kitchen!

And a couch and table. L and A are on the double bed bunks and D and I have our room behind the kitchen.

A had a big couple of weeks. She finally decided to cut her Rapunzel style hair into a cute bob. She was starting to complain about the weight of her hair on her neck. She had me take off about 15 inches of hair and then she donated it to Locks of Love. She also went and had an official ID card made. She is starting to take CLEP exams to earn college credit for the classes she is taking and needed an id card to be able to test. I can't believe my baby girl is getting so big! Time goes by so fast. I have to remember the savor days.
She is adulting!

She was nervous about cutting it.

It was really long.

There she is holding her own hair.

What the back looked like right after I cut off the pony tail. I evened it up and made it look good. This was just right after I did  it

The finished product. She loves it and has gotten several complements. It turned out really cute.

T has been doing wonderful in basketball. His team just won his latest game. He has one more this week and then the playoffs. He has been kind of sad lately because we have decided not to return to scouts next year. He is going to miss his friends. However, he is bridging to the Boy Scouts and we just do not approve of them as an organization. They also focus on survival camping and go on a trip every month. We just don't have the desire or time to do that. I have told him he will make new friends, but you know how kids worry. I am not sure what we will replace Scouts with, but probably 4H or maybe Trail Life.
They play hard at their games.

Lyla has been celebrating the chickens birthdays. All 4 of the babies we bought last year are still with us. My neighbor seemed to enjoy watching  her sing  the happy birthday song to our chickens! She has also been reminding me her birthday party is soon and will once again be Paris themed. Apparently, she thinks the is ready to tackle the macaroons again.
Chickens enjoying the veggie and grain cake that she made them.

My leg/hip is feeling better, but I am still resting it for another few days before I attempt resuming my regular activities. D has had crazy allergies, but overall things are good. We miss seeing our family so if you are feeling better then let's meet at the "Dining Room".  Miss and love you!

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
