The Bunch Get their First Winter Snow

Oh, what a difference a week makes. The nice milder weather has retreated and in its place it frigid air. It is current 26*F  with about 20 mph sustained winds and 40+mph gusts. It is down right COLD! I have discovered that there is a least one thing I like about the super frigid weather, the ground is FROZEN. Why is that important? Because this means that the mud pit of our yard is frozen and that when the dog goes out to make her rounds 1.) she is quick because it is so cold and MOST importantly 2.) her feet DO NOT get muddy! We are SO sick of washing her feet every time she comes in. I think she purposely picks the muddiest areas to tromp through. However, the below freezing weather means the snow on the deck and other non sun facing sides is still there and we have to deal with frozen chicken waterers being changed out periodically through out the day. I think we decided we prefer doing the chicken waters, but that is only because we have spent the past two weeks cleaning the dog's paws several times a day.
This was at 4:30am. I have had issues sleeping lately.

You can tell where the house blocked a lot of the snow.

Not much but it does look pretty.

T was feeling well enough to play in both his basketball games this week. They played the last placed team first and won 22-14. They played the undefeated 1st team right afterwards. I am talking only about a 10 minute break from hard playing. They pushed through their tiredness and won! 13-12! they made a basket in the last 15 seconds. It was a fantastic game! His team is now tied for first place, with this team being the only team we have lost to. We will probably play against them again in the championship in a few weeks.

I have been dealing with some hip pain lately. The past couple of years I have noticed my right hip hurts if I walk too much (think out all day walking around) or jog. I went on a brisk walk during T's practice the other day and for some reason now the pain in my hip has radiated down the side of my leg to my outer thigh. It is extremely painful to walk and has kept me from being able to sleep. I finally had some decent sleep last night for the first time in 3 days. I think that since I found a Mobic and was soooo tired I pretty much just passed out. Unfortunately, thanks to the weekend and holiday I can't go to the doctor until Tuesday. I have been doing some stretching, icing the area, and taking an anti inflammatory. They help a little, but it still hurts. We all know that I view idleness as a fate worse than death so it is really hard to just sit here. Luckily, the intense pain when moving makes it a little easier this time. I will keep you posted on what happens after I visit with the doctor. I also went to the ear doctor this week and everything looks good. Both tubes are still in and functioning and I have had no more ear issues for the past 6 months. It has been wonderful.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
