The Bunch Are Enjoying Running Water

Our big outing....to get the tires rotated!

Now that two weeks have passed since the well pump was fixed, we have finally caught up on all the laundry and other chores that we were unable to do without water and things are feeling a little less overwhelming.  I was really happy that about a year ago my in laws gave us a new water pump that they had used for only 6 months before they needed to have a new well dug. At the time I thought it would be years before we might need that pump. It turns out it was just barely a year before we needed it! It was a VERY long two weeks, but we managed. We have been campers for a long time and know how to make the best of what you got, but we are really excited we don't have to drive 45 minutes away every other day in order to shower, wash clothes, and get 55  galloons of fresh water. I think the hardest part was trying to keep the horses trough filled for them. They drink a lot of water!

The kitten, Noelle, is doing better. I did manage to bathe her another time and she did better. Mostly we have just been putting some antifungal spray on her scabs and she is healing nicely. The only time we lock her up now is at night while we sleep. Even though she has doubled her size since we adopted her, she is still very much a baby and I don't want her to get into trouble while we are asleep. So far, no one else, animal or human, has contracted ringworm from her. We do wash our hands a lot and use sanitizer, but that is mostly because of Covid and not ringworm. I guess it helps for both though.

She is such a sweet baby!

It is working on 2 years since we inherited the horse and donkey. It feels like they have always just been here. I like going out there and just doing stuff, especially when the weather is nice. It is just so quiet out there. I get overwhelmed with a lot of noise and I enjoy being away from the TV, kids, and the what seems like 1,000 things in my house that beep. I am not kidding everything in my house talks to me. The dishwasher beeps when it's done. The microwave will basically yell at you until you take out whatever is in it. On that note, I am surprised at how often I heat something up and DON'T immediately take it out of the microwave. The washer and dryer beep. The coffee maker beeps, a lot actually and I have no idea why. It is just a noisy house. I also like that the horses make us get up and move around even when we don't want to. My parents are closing in on 80 and they get around well and don't take any meds. I attribute it to always being active by cleaning up after the horses ( it's quite heavy work) and moving bales of hay frequently ( those are heavy also). Basically, horses are built in exercise.

It has been 4.5 years since we moved to the country. We still love it. A is now a senior and has been getting things ready for her graduation ceremony. Her cap, gown, and honor stole arrived last week and it seems really real now. I am not certain what her plans are past high school, but we are in no rush for her to decide. I am in fact shocked about how laid back I am about the kids life after school. I feel no need to push dual credit classes or to have her write 15 different essays to get scholarships. I decided to just let the kids enjoy being a kid. There is plenty of time for them to work hard at life. They have far more rules and chores than most kids their age and I am very proud at how well rounded and respectful they are. L was gifted with aerial silks for Christmas and has been out practicing on days that it is nice. She really misses volleyball. We are hopeful this summer sports can return. T has the option to play flag football now. The teams aren't allowed to practice and only play games, but at least he can go do something once a week. I am just looking at their mask policy. If he has to wear one while actively playing then we probably won't participate.

I hope everyone is well and finding things to do at home in this neverending pandemic!

I let everyone get donuts WITHOUT it being a birthday...the pandemic must be getting to me. The unicorn, spiderman and butterfly donut weren't only neat to look at, but also tasted good.

Noelle really loves her big sister. Maisy doesn't tolerate the cuddling unless she is asleep.

The Bunch Have A Hard Week

This was actually part of T's present. He had been begging D to do it.😂 It only stayed around a short while. After throwing such a fun and memorable birthday party for T at the lake with his basketball buddies, we have decided to part ways with the basketball organization. I cannot get past that evil man being anywhere near us or people I care about. I did make sure to give everyone a fair warning about the evil man and they can now hopefully make an informed decision about their level of involvement with him. I don't think T's too bothered by it. He didn't want to play this year anyways, but I had originally really wanted him to be around his friends. I am not sure what we will do instead, but I know he is happy to NOT have to run. He hates running. I am basically just feeling completely defeated. I trust no one and have a complete LACK of faith in police officers and lawyers. I know my husband is a good officer, but that's about it and the count is on until June

The Bunch Enjoy Easter

The Bunch ready to head to church to celebrate Easter. We had a wonderful Easter. The kids and I dyed eggs together. T made a fairly intricate Guns N Roses logo egg while A and I just enjoyed making pretty eggs. We have discovered that using food coloring makes for way brighter eggs than using the horrible Easter egg dye kits from the store. I participated in the egg hunt with the kids this year. It was so much fun! We laughed so hard as we all ran around trying to beat each other. Afterwards, we had our traditional egg gravy and went to church. We enjoyed a ham dinner and watched HOP. It was a great day.  T worked a long time on this egg. It was by far the most intricate egg he has ever done. He did a fantastic job! T actually fell down (you can tell by grass on his knee), but he wasn't going to lose no matter what! We had so much fun and laughter! It was great!! All smiles on our way to church. It was a little early still for A. The week has been pretty good. Better than I though

The Bunch Celebrate Valentine's Day And Grandma's Birthday

Obviously, now that my kids are all pretty much grown Valentine's isn't as big of deal to them. However, in keeping with tradition, not to mention the fact T still wanted out of school for the day, we still had a mini party.  I told them that this year I wasn't going to get them any candy, normally I get balloons and special treat for each of them, but this year I just wasn't feeling it so I decided I would buy them all pizza (a treat since I rarely allow pizza) and I had some little Bundt cakes to celebrate with. They all said they were fine with that. L doesn't really do sweets, A doesn't like chocolate, and T doesn't like truffles, but they all like pizza. We took the day off and fortunately didn't have any basketball related stuff. No practice, no games, a rare no basketball day. We watched a movie, played some minute to win it games, and just basically enjoyed a nice low key day.  I remember the old days when they were little and we would all make
